Yeah, I know this. I work on servers for living, and nothing gets you double checking backups like drive errors showing up. It's had those same couple of errors for a year or two, though, with no new ones, so it's probably alright :)

It definitely has it, because when I was messing with Vista, it kept telling me that it was failing and I needed to backup immediately even though I only had 2 errors on the drive.

I doubt it's a majority, however I know when we had our primary elections in my precinct, we had poll workers trying to get us to use the voting machines. When I said no, one of the other workers asked why the first wasn't getting more people to use the voting machine. The response was, surprisingly, that most people said they didn't want to use it because they didn't trust it to be accurate. Only anecdotal evidence, but it gave me a bit of hope that maybe other, normal citizens are aware of the problems with the electronic voting machines.

He complained about OpenGL performance, however he is running XGL which is known to be slower with 3d programs. Unless he had an ATI card, there was no reason, really, to not use AIGLX, which tends to run 3d stuff a lot faster.

I don't know if it's really that bad of a computer to expect some performance out of. I have very similar specs on my laptop and it's running compiz on Linux just fine. I don't see what should make aero unusable on anything less than a gaming card.

I happen to be a Christian who thinks that evolution hasn't happened on such a grandiose scale as is taught in science class. I think that certain species were placed here and had some evolutionary changes, but not as significant as changing the species completely, and yes, I am a Christian. But do I think that ID should be taught in science rooms? No, I do not. I think that forcing my ideas that come partially from faith in what the bible shows, is not something that is necessarily science. Science could be wrong, and so could I, but scientific theory is there to be disproved if possible and changed if need be. The thing about my beliefs are that they need not have proof, as Christianity is based on faith, and faith is not scientific. I can have my beliefs, and still learn what others think, and in the end, it will help me to be able to debate what I think is right, and not sound like a bloody idiot for being horribly misinformed.
