C'mon, no permission will be needed. Mexicans cross over into the states all the time. If it gets that bad Americans will just cross over into Canada during the dead of night.
I've been wondering the same thing. I've just about given up on this topic with my family. But, I just got a great idea. I'm going to email them a link to this topic on/.
Most people aren't going to get Vista unless they get a new PC. At which point Apple really doesn't have to do anything more than it's already doing: elegant hardware, nice software and a real competitor to MS anything since most people just want web/email. Apple can already do everything else that most people need a PC for except play games. BTW I have never owned a Mac (yet!) so don't call me a fanboy.
Perhaps YouTube should have made an example of Viacom and not restored the clips on their own. This would be useful in making future requests from other parties think twice before requesting clips be pulled.
YouTube could have just told Viacom that the clips were pulled and that Viacom were free to upload them again assuming they specified that it was okay for the clips to be made available.
Oh, well thank you. Yes, I left I.T. (systems administrator) to start a retail business myself. It's in the 18th month so far and is growing slowly although I wouldn't exactly call it successful yet.
I'd say that the work is rewarding, challenging and most of the buzzwords that can be said about an I.T. career. Although, the best thing about it is that when I go home for the night I don't have to worry about being paged because of server problems or stupid users.
Although I don't make as much in retail (yet) I don't have the health problems that I was getting from the stress of I.T. and mostly clueless management.
So many people from my generation (I'm 36) ended up in I.T. no matter what educational background they had because that's what the economy needed. Especially before Y2K. I know some people in that situation that as jobs became less desirable have weighed their options as well.
I'd have to say that I liked "Buffy" more than you did but I'd agree that with "Angel" the Buffyverse went to another level. Much darker and adult and I hated to see it go.
As has been said numerous times, Joss Whedon is at his best when creating an ongoing series as he has much more time to develop everything as compared to a movie.
I wish a television network with some balls or nothing to lose would fund another Joss series and just let him run wild. Perhaps the new CW station (or whatever UPN/WB station is called) or even FX would give him a shot.
Surely there are lots of Joss fans out there that would give nearly any series of any genre of his a chance.
No joke. No matter the outcome on this situation, fans of any show - specifically a scifi show where fans are probably familiar with the Firefly/Serenity history - will give serious thought before expending time, money and effort to supporting future series from cancellation.
I must admit that my only experience in hardware virtualization comes from IBM AS/400 and RS/6000 environments. But, if hardware virtualization is (mostly) ready on the PC and PC OSes could make use of it, it could hurt PC manufacturers such as Dell.
What I'm getting at is many families are getting multiple PCs in the house now. One (or more) for the kids and one (or more) for the parents. Most of these people are just browsing the web, checking email, low CPU usage things. What if, like on these enterprise class platforms, you could order one PC with a dual core (ore more) CPU, two (or more) keyboards, monitors, mice then slice up the processing power in two then run two OSes and basically have 2 virtual PCs out of the same hardware?
It may not save money just running 2 virtual PCs but if it could run 3 or 4 it should save money once they get into mass production.
Okay, this is slightly OT but someone mentioned that there isn't much use for this technology at the consumer level but I disagree. Of course a rootkit running on top of it all wouldn't be good.
I've had v2.0 for all of 3 minutes and already have a gripe. The X tabs icon has been moved from the far right to the right of each individual tab. I rather liked the old version as I could quickly X all my tabs down to the original window that I had open. Now I must mouse around to click all tabs.
No shit. When I read the part about dragging text from the browser to the desktop in OS X and it actually created the file for you I was thinking of my mom (i.e. an old lady). Mom has never been able to grasp the concept of cut-and-paste despite my many attempts to teach her. A few times she seemed to be able to do it then would forget. I even gave her a keyboard (Logitech) that indicated "copy" and "paste" on the "c" and "v" keys to no avail.
Kudos to Apple for having productive focus groups that must have included old ladies because a room full of *nix geeks would never have come up with that. Instead, it would have probably become an arguement over the lusers that couldn't freakin' cut and paste like everyone else.:-)
No kidding. Mod parent up. As a single, childless adult I used to view the homeschooled kids as the oddities but from what I've seen of the homeschooled kids that I know and the rules, killings, crap that goes on in public schools I'm starting to see it the other way around.
Perhaps you are hyper-sensitive to smells such as I am. To me most purfume smells like bug spray and I would notice a freshly baked bread smell. But usually when I point out smells (such as bug spray perfume that sends me into an asthmatic fit) to people in my vicinity they most always say that they did not even notice.
Sure, this is anecdotal evidence, but I do know that some people only subconsiously notice these smells. I wonder if these people buy after smelling freshly baked cookies.
Sounds exactly like one of the HP processes that used to run on my machine. I installed an HP printer program that I needed along with the drivers and then I noticed a taskbar process that would run about every 15 minutes or so. It really bugged me until I got rid of it.
Sounds like a PHB came up with that. It's the same thing that a PHB I used to work for did. CIO puts all passwords into an Access database that is password protected then places it in his own, higher level private share on the network. Each password is actually entered in a "secret" code that all IT employees are aware of just in case it is hacked. The CTO also has access to this database.
It's current for about 30 minutes at which point it begins to become outdated as passwords are changed.
The only reason that I used the air quotes was because there is a significant number of parents that are parents by marriage only (step parents) and by calling into question the parenting of some individuals one could, perhaps call into question their status of parent.
Anyway, I realize that all areas, cultures, etc. are not the same so it could be more of a local deal but I do know of kids that have many activities scheduled. My nephew has a schedule which takes up most evenings and actually includes what time he is to do homework, shit (literally), shower, have dinner, go to bed. When his friends come over they have predetermined times like 3:30 PM to come home. Which, I suppose is not bad but is much more of a schedule than be home before dark which is what we had when I was a kid.
Hey, I'll admit that my facts are limited to only what I've seen but they are facts none the less. And from what I can see they are still screwed up.
At which point we'll be very grateful for that "psychopath" and his buddies.
C'mon, no permission will be needed. Mexicans cross over into the states all the time. If it gets that bad Americans will just cross over into Canada during the dead of night.
Yes, but it will run the new GPL-DHS based Linux in which you'll need clearance to read the source.
That is the plan. :-)

It can't hurt.

My sentiments exactly. Wish I had mod points.

Actually, I still don't like it so I changed "browser.tabs.closeButtons" to 3 and I'm happy again.
Thanks. And I noticed that if I fuck up and delete too many tabs or the wrong one I can easily restore under History > Recently Closed Tabs.

I thought recess always had a teacher supervising the playground. So, how can games of chase/tag be unsupervised?

Exactly.
'nuff said. Next article please.
Who knows? But one thing is for sure, the teen or college hacker won't be worried about continued employment.

Do you have an HP printer perhaps?
