    first of all, I use my CAPS key as my "Speak" button when I use something like TeamSpeak, Ventrillo, or the built in voice chat in Unreal.. someone below mentioned "They should take away the Scroll Lock key too!" then how the fuck am I gonna scroll up on my console in FreeBSD??

    man i loved my compaq deskpro 386.. it was a later model other than the one shown i believe.. 16mhz.. with a special add-on 6mb rambus card, that was the entire width of the case.. it was indeed my favorite computer, and the computer that got me hooked on networking, BBS's, the first days of the residential internet access, and of course, good ol' fashion Apogee games and Creative Sound Blaster software like the talking parrot and Dr. Sbaitso..

    no but seriously, there's obviously a huge difference in what myspace is, and what CNN is.. CNN is not an internet community where people go to meet other people.. the place is full of creeps and weirdos.. yes, not all of the people are creeps, but still.. do we really need more ways for these teens to cry for more attention when the only people fucked up enough to give them attention are grownd adults who are fuckin pedophiliac freaks? i wasn't necessarily talking about looking at random girl's pictures, but rather the girls you know, in your area.. a huge point for sites like these are to find friends from your area.. and thats why its scary.. these kids pour their whole freakin life on their myspace page.. between where they party on the weekends, to what classes they have at school.. and there are plenty of creeps out there, that cyber-stalk.. paying attention to every little detail about one particular person's life.. i'm not saying everything does it, but the people do exist, and myspace has merely made it easier for you to "accept" stalking in a cyber fashion.. almost as if it's OK..

    surely its stalking.. what part of repeatedly going to someone's profile and checking to see if they have new pictures of themselves isn't stalking?? and i used the correct word when I said anonymous.. because nobody knows that you're doing it accept yourself.. you're hiding.. to each his own, but i'm afraid i stand by how I feel regarding this, and encourage others to stop defending such non-sense.. myspace is merely a lazy man's blog.. you don't feel like reading about how people are doing, you rather SEE how they're doing and judge their life based on their pictures and are too embarassed to confront someone in real life.. its fucking creepy..

    first of all, i'm a guy, and i replied with that comment.. second, if you have a girlfriend, and you look through another girl's myspace page and browse through her pictures, then you are in the wrong.. believe me, i thought of every single way of defending my argument with her, but it all winds down to being loyal to the person you love.. in the real world, and in the cyber world.. i'd be pissed if she was looking at muscle studs on myspace all day.. myspace is a way for some men and some women to escape from their sucky real life.. and if you wanna do that, than thats fine.. but you should be aware that it is wrong, if you have someone to be loyal to..

    media PC's are surely becoming more popular amongst your average computer user.. at the end of last year I bought a Geforce 6600GT with a simple TV-OUT with svideo.. EASILY hooked it up and got my downloaded tv episodes displaying on my TV.. windows was a piece of cake, and to get a TV to work in Linux, takes about 3 additional lines your Xorg.conf.. whenever friends come over, they realize how easy it is to setup, and they end up doing it too.. as downloaded media gets more and more popular, and offered by large networks for $$, then certainly the media PC will become more popular too.. we're still not at the point of buying tv shows ala-carte on the internet, nor movies, but its coming..

    i personally think its unwise to put that amount of money in to a trend like myspace... remember a couple years ago? practically all the same camwhores on myspace, were on livejournal.. they just moved from vessel to vessel because the trend wears thin.. i think after time there will certainly be a myspace-crusher, and then this will be happening all over again.. hell, even AIM used to be big, but with the coming of several different clients that are better, its definitely taken its toll on AIM.. i think the same will happen in this case with myspace.. plus my girlfriend nearly left me because once, i totally left this profile of some chick's page on my computer once.. man she was pissed as shit.. needless to say, my account was deleted moments after that.. i feel better ever since!

    you'd think in a country where security is one of our most important considerations, that these machines would be top notch and untamperable. a president and all his officials should be the first people on the line questioning whether or not these machines can be hacked.. its not a question of who should of really won the election, because if the republicans were smart, they should be complaining too.. shouldn't they be afraid of democrats hacking in to the machine? and visa versa.. i think they're all fuckin screwy bastards.. my opinion on this matter does not lean on either political side, but for fuck's sake.. its SOMEONE's responsibility to make sure these machines are legit.. and someone obviously didn't do their job..

    I remember my sister and I playing Contra when it first came out.. We were at the very last level, when you're inside that hellacious alien and you need to destroy its insides.. Unfortunately, I died.. She kept on, and beat the shit out of that fuckin Alien.. but alas, when the helecopter flew away, with Player 1 aboard, I wondered where my character was.. how come he wasn't on the plane with player 1?? i realized my sister left my dead body inside that alien.. i was bawling :`(

    I'm sure most of you are aware of the many different types of Hydrogen Fuel Cell scooters out there on the market, or are about to make their debut.. Some time in 2006, the ENV Scooter is supposed to be released.. I really hope it pulls through, because the bike goes about 50mph and is super quiet.. supposedly you don't even scare the birds near the road away.. I read in a couple places that you can get a kit from this ENV company that will allow you to produce your own hydrogen, and when you have all your equipment paid for, it'll probably cost you about $2-4 for every 100 miles you drive.. thats not bad.. here's a link and some pictures

    i think they just need to market the damn things.. i'd gladly pay $150-200 for one, for my kid.. just manufacture them damnit!! i think the idea is great to give kids these things and all, but i'd rather buy the kids tons of books and put the money in to providing them a good education, with good teachers and a nice working environment..

    i'm afraid i disagree simply because the kind of people that use Windows 98 are too cheap to upgrade, or their machines are too slow for an upgrade.. Typically, they want to get on the Internet, browse the web, check their email, and write up documents or spreadsheets... Linux would be the perfect solution for the majority of people that use those simple applications.. Few to No?? I personally think you need to actually read what has been going on in the linux world for the past 10 years.. there are thousands of applications, and plenty of them are completely practical and easy to use..

    my bosses are cheap, and it will take QUITE a bit of convincing that we need to spend more money to buy a new computer, and a license of XP.. if you tell them something is free, they are all ears.. thats the simple fact that this article is trying to get through to people..

    oh man, you'll be in business with damn small linux installed on there.. as far as "fast" is concerned, you might notice a bit of lag when you're in X windows.. i honestly use more Console apps or things i can run in an xterm.. although, it comes with a lightweight web browser called Dillo.. its perfectly fine for your simple browsing.. i use mine for IRC, some old games, web browsing, and a GREAT thin-client for when I'm RDP'ing into my XP machine from a remote location using 'rdesktop'..

    read the docs as carefully as you can, and you should be fine.. there's some great support out there surprisingly.. another reason i prefer this distro.. it has a decent package system as well.. you can use debian's "apt-get" to install most major things.. but they have a good collection of .dsl files that are super easy to install using they "mydsl-load" command.. good luck!

    not to mention, all the other distros i tried, required more than 32mb of ram to even begin the install process.. was able to bypass that easily with DSL, and had no probs.. its pretty damn small.. the other small distros don't have nearly enough out-of-the-box driver support..

    after a little messin with, I got DSL to work on my Toshiba Satellite 425CDS, p100 mhz with 16mb of ram.. used the Install To HD feature, and it worked like a charm.. the reason I went with a distro like DSL, is because first of all its a livecd, with tons of bundled drivers for all sorts of hardware, including my 16-bit PCMCIA nic cards, and modem card.. many distros like Mandriva, Fedora, even Slackware and Debian had issues installing on this laptop.. i tried Fbsd, and it installed ok.. however, i didnt have nearly enough HD space to upgrade to a STABLE release.. even once it was installed, I couldn't even get my PCMCIA devices to work.. so i wasn't even going to try netbsd.. NetBSD is great on one of my old desktops, but for this old lappy, DSL was the way to go.. its a perfectly functioning portable computer, with a lightweight and small distro, with all the apps I need for now..

    First of all, people are treating "Gore inventing global warming" as if this was when he said he invented the Internet.. In the article they mentioned that HUNDREDS of scientists that are fighting against Gore's case.. Well, I read about 3 names of some podunks that barely have any credibility in comparison to the scientists working in favor of Global Warmning actually existing..

    Second of all, they're speaking like, "Well since Gore is wrong, its ok to destroy our Planet anyway and suck the fossil fuels dry".. I don't really agree with any of this, because neither side has proven anything to me.. But we all know, that we're fucking up our planet regardless..
