Ahh, a cut and run defeat-o-crat... :) Crat nothing, I never said either country was the US.

I prefer to work to throw the bums out and keep my country for me. Heh, good luck with that, let me know how it works out for ya... It's a noble sentiment, but it'll take years as a minimum, and all you'll achieve is replacing them with just as many bums who hold pretty much the same ideals but happened to be funded from slightly different sectors of the economy.

Personally I'd rather not waste my time worrying about the bums at all, and get on with enjoying my wherever and however I see fit. I'll go back for sure, but it'll be when the time and reasons suit me.

Rubbish. They were produced by a company that has a vested commercial interest in security software for Windows. As they stand, they show you can use black lines to make a pretty little spaghetti diagram, and that is all. Real OSS advocates will get nothing out of this as MS shills will counter with this exact argument.

Even simply adding the name of each syscall means someone else can start trying to prove their claims aren't a fabrication.

You missed my point. I read the article. I know what his claims are, but I want verifiable proof. The pictures as they stand are entirely meaningless, except to the gullible.

    My thoughts exactly. From TFA:

A picture is worth millions of words Not when it is supposedly a map of system calls and there isn't a single friggin' word anywhere on either of the pictures. In fact, the only way to tell which system is which is by the filename of the image! How can anyone even begin to verify that it is not complete bollocks?
  5. Re:good idea on UK Propose Registering Screen Names with Police · · Score: 3, Insightful

You miss part of the point of laws like this. This adds to the number of crimes they've committed when they're caught after the fact. So on a second conspiracy to rape, for example, they'll add all of the unregistered screen names to the list of crimes, to make sure they go away for that much longer. Fixed it for you. Don't get me wrong, I have very little doubt that these guys deserve to go away for a long time, but how do you know where to draw the line between real threats like this and a dystpoian thought-crime society, the likes of which are speculated about by Slashdot conspiracy theorists and authors like Orwell, Huxley and Bradbury?

This oubviously came to police attention prior to the act. Could they not have simply then set a trap and caught them in the act (of course, before anyone actually got raped)? That would give them even more justifiable reason to lock them up for longer, less wriggle room for legal defense, and would result in a better overall benefit to society IMHO.

Don't equate Americans with the American government.I haven't liked a thing they've done in the last decade or so. Ahhh, but have you actually done anything of any consequence about it? (complaining on Slashdot does not count!) If so, kudos to you sir. If not, then your inaction is implicitly supporting the incumbent administration and as such the least you can expect is to be tarred with the same brush.

Me, I voted with my feet, and moved to another country.
