3. IMO, the right thing to do would have been to leave Saddam alone, and let the country have a revolution if the citizens decide to have one.
Revolutions don't just magically happen because some citizens want it. Do you think there could be a revolution in North Korea? Having a world police could be a good thing, the problem is that the current implementation is just looking after itself.
When you can;t say what you want for the fear of going to Gitmo its still censorship.
That would be censorship only after it credibly left the realm of insanity. E.g. people who are afraid to speak because they think the CIA is listening to their tooth fillings are not being censored.
This happens all the time in authoritarian regime. For example, in Venezuela Hugo Chavez closed a TV station because the editorial line was critic of his government. A while after that, most TV stations changed their editorial line to please the guy.

On the flip side, everything that gets in the way of that location-shifting goodness is EVIL! Akonadi is evil. Half-assed transitions to libssh2 are evil. Godawful "toaster" notifications and ambiguous error messages are evil. The plasma interface engine randomly crashing every few hours is evil. All those unfinished K apps that nobody uses are evil. Yes, KIO slaves are the only reason why I keep using KDE. I don't know how Gnome users can live without it, fuse + ssh is not as convenient.
Your a fucking idiot. Just because you can't wrap your head around advanced creation doesn't mean others suffer from the same affliction. Also don't confuse the lack of shrink wrap to be any indication of performance or quality as seems to be the case in this thread.
I don't know how a google search for "custom multiplayer pcb" is going to help him recover from his "fucking idiot" condition.
Someone should make a plugin / theme / skin in Firefox to make it easy for Grandma. Simple menu entries, not too colorful, etc. Maybe its already out there and I haven't found it yet.
In fact, this should be part of ALL software: OpenOffice, Firefox, Thunderbird, etc.
Some developers just don't get it. You shouldn't need a degree in order to use a computer.
KDE takes it to the next level, showing dialog boxes with names like Nepomuk, Akonadi, etc. WTF?
While looking for the citation you want, I found some interesting information.
There are 11 arab countries which won't let you in if you have an israeli stamp in your passport, or even if you have an unused israeli visa in your passport, your nationality doesn't matter. They even look for egyptian and jordanian border stamps, knowing that israeli authorities might stamp a separate piece of paper attached to your passport on request. This is written in the wikipedia article.
There are also some arab airlines that won't allow boarding if they find out you are jewish, it doesn't matter if you are landing on an arab country or not. Namely Kuwait Airways, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Emirates Airline, perhaps others.
Fact is is Zionists will do almost anything to create a Jewish state for Jews only.
It is true that in the state of Israel the majority follow the jewish faith.
The jewish population in Israel is 75%, with 0.01% of the total land area, and no resources whatsoever. There are 32 countries with more than 75% of muslim population, some of them with more than 99%. Total area of muslim countries is around 30%, take or give. And its not just any land, its fscking oil rich land.
In these muslim countries jews are not even allowed to own property. People can't even enter these countries with an Israeli passport, not even for tourism. Muslims in Israel are allowed to own property, vote and enjoy the same rights that the jews have.
The name "Venezuela" comes from the spanish discoverers, who saw the small natives' houses built on the water and were reminded of Venice, hence they called it "little venice" or "Venezuela". In spanish the "uela" prefix is used to minimize something, like "mujer" (lady) and "mujerzuela" (whore).
On the other hand, what does "United States of America" mean? America is a continent, but there are other independent states in America that are not part of this union, so in my opinion it should be called "United States of New England" or something like that. The official name of Mexico is "Estados Unidos de Mexico", which means "United States of Mexico", in my opinion much better than claiming the whole continent's name to themselves.
First of all, the war wouldn't be between Venezuela and Colombia, it would be between Chavez and Colombia. And I'm not sure if Chavez' commanders would follow an order to attack Colombia. Colombia has the support and technology of countries like Israel, USA, France, Spain. Chavez on the other hand would have Cuba, Russia, Belarus and Iran on his side.
Colombian armed forces are bigger, have more experience. Venezuela has serious problems on every level, there is no electricity and the country is dark after 9pm (currently its illegal to open a business after 9pm).
This year's election (which is really the whole reason why reports like the one that originally kicked of this thread are even showing up at this time) will be interesting to watch.
Dude, the election is for the congress, and its in september, 6 months away. And it won't be interesting to watch because they are working in order to transfer the authority of the assembly to "the people". (of course, "the people" are not going to be elected by popular vote). The same thing happened when Antonio Ledezma (an opposition leader) was elected mayor of Caracas, Chavez just named someone above Ledezma to undermine his authority and take over the budget.

While it is true that Chavez only closed and expropriated one TV station, he also gained complete control of the rest (except one, but he is already working on that). At the same time he has launched countless TV, radio stations and newspapers for no other purpose than promoting his personal agenda. Also note that "not renewing" a license is one thing, and expropriating equipment without proper compensation is a complete different one.

By the way, Lucas Rincon was appointed by Chavez as Minister of Interior and Justice after the coup, and later on Ambassador to Portugal. So if Rincon's statement was a lie, how can you explain his current high ranking position in the government?
Didn't he change his mind in the middle of the coup and help Hugo in the end? Maybe he didn't care about the statement because he was very happy they kidnapped him instead of shooting him and saying a different lie.
But how can I explain that Hugo had him shipped out to another continent? Oh, I don't know, why do you think he'd want that guy to live comfortably far, far away? If I'd guess I would probably just think he owed him a favor, but he didn't trust him enough to have him around.
Who knows what was in Lucas Rincon's mind? Certainly not me let alone you. Something you should know about Venezuela's politics is that the best positions are ambassadors. Its way better to live in any european country than in Venezuela, and besides its a fairly low profile job with high salary.

Stations talk. Stations have a voice: They have an editorial line. Fox News is on topic because it is well known example of a station that claims to be neutral yet is obviously very biased.

Sure... the streets were empty except for the large crowd of angry people beseiging the presidential palace and demanding the return of the president.
That's a nice story that Chavez made up and supporters like to repeat. Sure, on April 11 there were large crowds on the supporting and opposing sides of the government. Then Chavez started to broadcast on all channels, and magically, just in sync, snipers started shooting from buildings, and cameramen started falling one by one. After 14 deaths, believe me, normal people run for their lives. The next 2 days the streets were empty. How did Chavez returned to power? Yet he seems to enjoy calling his opponents "golpistas" almost every day on media broadcasts (golpe = coup). He really likes to incite hatred among Venezuelans.

Hasn't improved? This is such a big understatement. Every weekend there are between 50-70 violent deaths in Caracas. People are so afraid to go be on the streets that after 6pm everybody is home.
- Inflation
Another understatement. The OFFICIAL inflation figures places Venezuela second in the world, only behind Congo. In Venezuela people are getting used to have 30% of annual inflation rate. We were very lucky last year, when it was only 25%. This also came with a 100% devaluation rate. Let me put it easy for you to understand: if last year you had 1000$ in the bank, this year you only have 500$, but you will only be able the equivalent of 350$ worth of anything. Food has the highest rate of inflation, so this affects the poor people more.
- The strengtening of the OPEP that helped to increase noticeably the governments income from the oil.

When a million people took to the streets, waving copies of their constitution saying that the president can't be removed like that, that TV station said that the streets were quiet and the people were happy of the change of government.
Really? And how would you know? Did you see that on TV? Was it by any chance a documentary sponsored by Chavez? I was there when that happened, and from my window the streets were EMPTY. This may come as a surprise to you, but normal people don't go to the streets during a coup. The streets were completely silent, except for some fireworks going off every now and then.
After reading this I went to Nokia's website in order to download and install the latest Nokia Maps. Since my cellphone isn't mentioned as supported, I clicked on the "visit Maps support" link, which takes me to a flash riddled page that doesn't work in firefox or ie (with flash installed). From there I started clicking on different links, and they are either redirecting me to the same referrer or taking me to another flash page that doesn't work.
I have to say, this is the most useless website I've seen in a while. Looks nice, but useless.
We use VMWare ESX 3.5 heavily in my company, and the Virtual Infrastructure Client is a pain to install and run. The client is available only for Windows, and requires the.NET framework. It disconnects every now and then, and it doesn't try to reconnect automatically (this was fixed in VMWare 4).
As I'm a Linux user (and my company is cool about letting me run Linux), there is no acceptable way for me to run the client. Using wine is not an option because the console doesn't work. Apparently one can use the console through the web interface, but this requires a firefox plugin which is dynamically linked to some archaic versions of libraries, so it doesn't work if your Linux installation is from the past 5 years. With VMWare 4 the applet does load, but the console doesn't work anyway.
So then I tried installing VMWare Server edition just to run Windows and then the VMWare client, but the installation was trying to screw up my filesystem badly (disclaimer, I use a non-rpm based, relatively unknown Linux distro). Finally I hit the nail on the head by running the VMWware client under Virtualbox.
As a result now I'm a happy Virtualbox and not-so-happy VMWare ESX user.
Yes, you are fine right now. Just like I said, you are not from Venezuela or Cuba How long do you think it will take before the effects reach Uruguay? Venezuela is about to be accepted as a Mercosur member, so my guess is it won't take too long.
You cite Antonini Wilson's suitcase as a proof that Chavez financed Argentina. In the same thread where you ask for the US to intervene in Latin American internal affairs. Chavez says that case was a set-up, with the US doing what you think they should be doing. Trying to get right of those damn commies.
In the world of international politics there are many different ways of intervention, and they don't have to be always negative as you are assuming. Smuggling suitcases full of cash is one way, calling for war against a neighbor country with a long history of good relationship is another. I don't think either of them are good examples to follow.
As history has shown before, I wouldn't expect Europe to do much about the situation there, but I would expect the US to be at the very least worried about the situation there.
In favor of the US version documented in Wikipedia there is the fact that Chavez _is_ capable of such kind of thing. In favor of the non-US version: going through customs with that suitcase was unnecessary. Also, Antonini Wilson is too good a friend with US intelligence and is free after trying to smuggle 800 thousand dollars. That might lead some people to think he might be a US agent. Plus, US intelligence is not only capable of doing such a thing, but a lot more, because we saw them, and their own files confirm it.
Do you honestly believe that all this was a set-up by the US? Antonini Wilson didn't break any US law by smuggling 800,000 USD into Argentina, he was accused of operating as a Venezuelan agent unlawfully in the US, and was set free in exchange of collaborating with the FBI.
"An indictment charges the men--and a fifth who is a fugitive--with operating as Venezuelan agents unlawfully, without having notified the U.S. attorney general. In a court hearing, a U.S. attorney said Mr. Antonini is now cooperating with the investigation and wore a wire to record subsequent encounters with the alleged Venezuelan agents, who offered him $2 million in hush money, while also threatening his family if he didn't keep quiet."
(About wikipedia having the US version: I don't mean wikipedia is somehow biased as a whole. I mean _that_ wikipedia page you cite is of very low encyclopedic quality. It's built from a small collection of facts, and media coverage, a lot of hypotheses, and doesn't take account of all the media saying that Antonini Wilson might be a US agent.
I provided 2 other references, but you seem to like Wikipedia better. As far as being built from a "small collection of facts, media coverage and hypotheses", if we count the number of references per word in the Wikipedia article I cite, both the English version and the Spanish version have more references than, for example, the one you cite (Operation Condor).
Counting references per byte (because I don't have an easy way to count words): Operation Condor: 66 references / 51203 bytes = 0.0012889869734195262 Maletinazo (English version): 35 references / 21680 bytes = 0.001614391143911439114 (25% more than Condor) Maletinazo (Spanish version): 61 references / 18768 bytes = 0.003250213128729752771 (150% more than Condor)
Of course, this not a detailed analysis of the quality of the article, but its the fastest and most objective way I can find of comparing both articles, and as far as references go

They could always release a hotfix/patch/service pack to fix it.
We use VMWare ESX 3.5 heavily in my company, and the Virtual Infrastructure Client is a pain to install and run. .NET framework. It disconnects every now and then, and it doesn't try to reconnect automatically (this was fixed in VMWare 4).
The client is available only for Windows, and requires the
As I'm a Linux user (and my company is cool about letting me run Linux), there is no acceptable way for me to run the client.
I am from Uruguay and we are fine right now.
Yes, you are fine right now. Just like I said, you are not from Venezuela or Cuba
How long do you think it will take before the effects reach Uruguay?
Quoting the Wikipedia English article:
Counting references per byte (because I don't have an easy way to count words):
Operation Condor: 66 references / 51203 bytes = 0.0012889869734195262
Maletinazo (English version): 35 references / 21680 bytes = 0.001614391143911439114 (25% more than Condor)
Maletinazo (Spanish version): 61 references / 18768 bytes = 0.003250213128729752771 (150% more than Condor)
Of course, this not a detailed analysis of the quality of the article, but its the fastest and most objective way I can find of comparing both articles, and as far as references go
