99.9% of australian broadband adsl servers provide download caps. Normally this is between 5gig to 15/20gig and is split into peak/off peak hours. Once that is passed there will be an extra charge or the service will be slowed down to 32-64kb/s depending on the provider.
Also on the story in order to get that you need to bundle with their phone service too ($29.95 per month AU), and you need to be on their DSLAM. Otherwise you are limited to 1.5Mb.
Alot of users are complaining about the bundling in this forum post, as if you dont bundle you will get a higher cost along with half the download quota.
Why spend days writing a complex virus when users will fall for clicking on a script which took 5 seconds to write and 10 seconds to download a "genuine" icon for.
Does anyone remember (i think it's called) cheat's z-modem? It used to download files and on the last packet send a fail back. This means on bbs's you could download a large file and not use credits for it because the board thought the file failed.
Its about time some major players start utilising this technology.
I hope the RIAA takes notice.
and then anyone who registers a .microsoft domain will be sued and have ownership transferred back to microsoft.
ie.. micr0soft.com and many other fansites.

Can you really believe that they are going to manually check 100,000 files for legimacy?
Between 'one and 100 gigabytes of material to trade, or up to 250,000 songs.'
They use the word material instead of songs. So in actual fact they dont have 250,000 songs, they probably just have 100~ movies.
I wonder what sounds better to the media - 100 movies or 'the equivalent of 250,000 songs'.
Another quote on that.
There are lies, damned lies and then there are statistics
The reason why there are no viruses on macs?
