    well encrypt the logs with some random encryption cycling the password to random letters and # and symbols (using the whole world wide alphabet including japaneese charicters) and just set it to auto email the log to them every hour and then clear the log from the server using some 128 bit+encryption and say they gave them the logs they wanted but dew to the internet being un secure they had to encrypt it to protect their users.

    why dont we also have a .phishing domain so that way the we could find out who is really stupid or not. come on most people that read /. are smarter then the average internet user and also know how stupid people really are. the # of times i have seen a person using limewire or kazaa and are complaining that their network is slow or they have viruses is beyond reason. so would creating a new top level domain REALLY work, would people still be idiots and go to bobsbank.com or bobsbank.bank and would they look and make sure that it is their banking site in the URL or would bobsbank.phishing show up and they would login like they would normally... and also where would this 50k go to? why not just make a agreement that if it is a fraudulent site it would just be shut down and no refund of your 50K... but if they are phishing bank sites would it really mean they are paying for it or would they use some customer that they stole their account to pay for it. oh well the keyloger on the computer will just send the information out sooner or later...

    but look at the bright side if they pay that then they can stay open(pay the RIAA over 30 years making minimum payments) and keep selling songs online dew to double jeopardy... but last time i checked it doesn't cost the RIAA that much to record 1 song. my friend just went to a recording studio and only paid 1.5k for 40 hours and recorded a 12 track cd. then again him and his band write their own music unlike most bands.

    how does that have to do with DMCA it is mainly for software then hardware... if you hack your Xbox it just violates your end user agreement. Making it so MS will not touch it, on the other hand if you reverse engeneer a version of office or windows. if it were not for DMCA that would just be violation of the end user agreement for the software, but because of the DMCA it violates the copyright and makes it illegal for reverse engineering of software. i havent read up in the DMCA in a long time but last time i checked that was how it went.

    480 burst... i have NEVER seen usb actually get any where close to a rate of 480mb/s or anywhere close to that (100 mb/s but thats about the max)... on the otherhand i have seen firewire work at 350mb/s on a chain to the last device on the chain...

    umm i totally disagree with the open source code for the voting machine, it may make some aspects more secure... but it also allows for a lot more insecurity. i think they should make it open to only to individuals with some level of goverment security clearance (making it so they would have to enter in their ID to view the source code and some how embed the ID into the source code allowing tracking of the access to the source code) now for the vote counting software they use... they use Access to store results, all they really need to do to secure that is change the DB to a password protected SQL server with REAL auditing not this "state of the art central tabulator" that can be accessed threw MS office and leave no trace of modifacation. oh well...

    the last second patches this year i can understand, they did just get targeted big time by HBO and blackboxvoting. so they had to fix some mistakes :-)

    Well then again open ended quotes in the artical were prefect english :) and most ppl on /. dont speak this so called english language you speak of. it has too many rules like using real words and having to know these things called definitions and some stuff called grammar then to top it off you have to know how to spell...way too much work for me i perfer to use the dink language for spaceballs!

    AMD is just like apple though they have a fan base that ppl who like AMD will use AMD. they will tend to spend the extra 10-100$ for a AMD chip because it is a solid product... i my self have never had a AMD processor fail on the other hand i have fried one out of every pentium line that i can think of from centrino to the P1 to the P4 i think i have fried em all (not the individual speed increases but just the marketing names)... it is really neat i have them all hanging on my wall... including motherboards that were fried in the process

    well there really is something to look at here prinipals have the ability to ruin a students life by the decisions they make, now in this day in age where the student has the same ability to ruin the principals life all from a myspace. that takes the power from the powerful and gives it to the powerless. if the student did something wrong and was punished for it appropriatly that is one thing but if the principal (and this does happen) was out to get the kids in trouble or didnt even hear them out when they tried to defend their selfs then she got what she deserves example is my friend is in class he is a stoner, the teacher pull out a "fact" that smoking weed makes ppl calmer... what her whole defense about it was that the peice of paper that she got off the internet was 100% correct and nothing else was true. the friend of mine said it depends on the person and she shot him down and then he went and said well 1 out of every 2 people cant read (what he pulled off some website) and then turned to her and said i can read this so that means that you cant read because i am 1 person and you are a second person so no way can we both read.. this ticked the teacher off and he got sent to the office and got suspended for a week. and that is all folks

    i would have to say any black hat is about 10K times more qualified then most white hats dew to the fact that black hats will have more experince. why you may ask? because the go where there not suppose to DUH! a white hat is limited to the variables they set up and are able to access, black hates can access any variables because they are not limited by the light only by their will and how protected they think they are from gettin caught, inet cafe with cd or flash bootable version of (insert OS here most would be linux) on a terminal and no cameras in the cafe then there pretty secure, as long as no one notices, but home computer with no firewall no proxy nothing at all just directly attackin a NSA server, then that is where we call it just plain stupid...
