  1. Nothing Illegal in Sweden on ThePirateBay.org Raided and Shut Down · · Score: 1

It appears as if the Pirate bay hasn't broken any laws in Sweden. I feel that this raid was politically motivated and will amount to nothing more than a hefty amount of free publicity. Whats the monetary value of that in todays world? One would think that the operators will be released and the equipment returned once this baseless action has reached completion. This may also lead to any munber of lawsuits for being falsly detained and/or the unwarranted seizure of property. At best this is a trivial matter that should be resolved soon.

I feel that microsoft came out with a very arrogant stance of almost " you can't hack this" despite what this chris character is quoted as saying. I've said before if there is money to be made in locking something then there is also money to be made in unlocking something. At this rate I predict a mod-chip(s) that will permenantly bypass msft xbox360 security by years end.

If there were no movies and no t.v. due to piracy? I would cheer that the world had taken a shift for the better. I on occasion watch movies, however our entertainment options are used to placate us as a people. This way we don't think about our own failings. Nor do we strive to improve ourselves educationally and compete against the wealthy for the better jobs. We stand by as companies institute 401ks and do away with defined benefits plans. As we are sold out to big business and big government. As we're told that we don't need unions. That gold and silver are things we don't want to invest in. That we should buy buy buy but you better not go bankrupt! If we could get rid of movies and T.V. then perhaps people would think for themselves a little more and be more conserned with quality education. Keeping our jobs here and not outsourced. Concerned about invasion of privacy by the NSA, FBI and whomever else wishes to use the power that they were entrusted with in a corrupt and manipulative manner. If Piracy could bring down our now traditional big businesses then let piracy reign. I understand that many people would suffer but this would only bring about a greater good. We need to teach big business and big government that the people as a whole still make and break and rewrite the rules for the greater good.

I just wish NTP had crushed the life out of RIM!

  8. Take a stand against DRM and TC on DRM Based on Trusted Computing Chips · · Score: 1

One way or another a we must band together to stand against DRM and TC. I have stated many times that WE are the paying customers. The arguments in support of these two initiatives are baseless. All we need do is look to companies like SONY to see an example of how DRM will continue to have a negative impact on people worldwide. TCM in computers and other devices are bad news. I encourage everyone to do what must be done in order to convince those in authority that these sort of measures be revoked. I, personally, stand against this. Also there is money and or prestige in defeating these measures as is evinced by groups like the OSX86 project. There will be software hacks, mod chips whatever countermeasure must be implemented to bypass this heinousness. Don't just take my word for it. wait and see!

Does this mean that 3d card makers Nvidia and ATI are left out in the cold? This wouldn't encourage many people to purchase thier products. How many people need HDCP anyway? We really need to start rebelling against DRM. WE are the paying customers. Without paying customers your company goes out of business. It's a fairly linear path. WHY does everyone keep laying down and taking it from these stubborn callous people? DRM scemes like the above are ill-fated. There will be mod chips and software hacks for all computers coming from the worlds best hackers. All DRM does is infurate the elementary level children for a small amout of time and other legitimate paying consumers.

Let the examples of SONY BMG and BLIZZARD software not be forgotten.Nor the lawsuits brought about by greed and fear. This is yet another clear example of tyranny. Write to your senators, congressman and any other politician you think will listen. Boycott thier products and sign petitions against these villianous houligans.Support the EFF.
