  3. Violent games and violence. on Politicians Wising up on Game Legislation? · · Score: 3, Interesting

Many politicians seem to think that violent video games are the root of all that is wrong with the youth of this world today, yet they conveniently ignore the fact that correlation != causation. The real link between the two is that violent people (among others) will be attracted to games that allow them to act out their desires. For some people this is an outlet that allows them to release the violent urges that would otherwise be acted out in the real world. (I am one such person.) Others will find games to be an insufficient outlet and will then lash out at the world in general. Of course, since they were a gamer beforehand the games themselves end up taking the blame.

and if the water content of oceans diminishes, the salt content increases proportionately. that would threaten to bring dramatic change to the fragile balance of the environment for marine life.
The net water content of the oceans will NOT decrease if this technology is put into use. The only thing that might change is the rate at which water both leaves and reenters the oceans. Furthermore, even if you were correct, as the icecaps shrink, there is a huge influx of less salty water so an increase in salt content would undo some of that. (any debate about global warming does not belong in this thread so I won't go any further into that.)

I have not looked inside a Tek, but I suspect that a lot of the complexity involved in the transformer is cleaning circuitry. A scope wouldn't sell very well if line noise crept through into the signal you were trying to measure.

That has been tried before. It's called Communism/Socialism, and it failed miserably. I'm not going to go into all the problems that exist with such systems, but the biggest one is very simple and straightforward. PEOPLE ARE LAZY, and since they are lazy if you give everyone the same amount of money/resources/what-have-you regardless of how much value they produce, a large portion will stop working. The effects of lazyness have destroyed every society that has tried to allocate resources in a uniform fashion without regard to value.

The flying thing is an elemental galleon, built by house Khorvare, these ships are powered by a bound elemental of at least huge size. those galleons capable of flight use either an air elemental or a fire elemental. from the looks of the picture, I would say that that one is powered by an elder air elemental, top speed is approximately 20 mph. An elemental galleon can only be piloted by a dragonmarked heir of house Khorvare who posesses the mark of storm, least or higher.
