Homoeopaths are selling malaria vaccinations. E.g. water. I see some potential for harm there
Yes, the concept of "harm" is a tricky one. I refer only to immediate harm, i.e.: "Does taking a homeopathic malaria vaccine (water) make me worse off than I was before?" Probably not.
Does taking statins make me worse off than I was before?. Probably yes.
I once met a girl out near Blarney
Whose Mom worked as some kind of a carny
And so says my miss
The locals would piss
Ensued then quite a bit of hilarity.
Bad analogy. Consider rape. The thing that is taken is the right to say no.
Not to say I'm equating the degree of the two. Rape is always wrong, but the legal right to say no because of bad copyright law, not always.
The literal translation of "copyright infringement" in Swedish is "brainchild rape".
Its a very sad state in the world that any article - even those who not even talk about global warmning - get dragged into that flame war by the deniers.
It is (...) approximately three times heavier than a typical (European) human heart>/quote>
This guy can now work as one of those specialists that break bad news to people ('you're fired', 'the operation was not a success', 'Paul Walker died', 'your son was KIA').
No lying when he says: "It's with a heavy heart that I inform you that..."
'Researchers are developing computers capable of "approximate computing" to perform calculations good enough for certain tasks that don't require perfect accuracy, potentially doubling efficiency and reducing energy consumption.'
I am, for one, welcoming our new approximately accurate, longer-range drone overlords.
I wish the best of luck to whoever gets to model the behavior of a mixed (mostly) nonpolar gas interacting with a dense, more or less randomly packed, array of 240nm spikes, composed of some sort of complex biological polymer arrangement, at the boundary of the (already complex enough) interaction between an insect wing and the surrounding fluid.
Let us suppose a perfectly spherical spike in a vacuum...

The lipid theory of cardiovascular disease is nonsense. At least homeopathic "remedies" do no harm. Statins do.
Same reason why my martinis are 99.999% gin. I just rely on the probability cloud from the vermouth sitting on my bar shelf.
they can be tilted slightly up!
"Why do people bitch about the NSA and still p
Glad you're OK. I thought that was a genuine "NO CARRIER".
Sure, the quantity is great, but the quality not so much...

Slashdot has contained comments on everything from Natalie Portman to Hot Grits.
As I understand it, there is nothing between Natalie Portman and Hot Grits. Kinda like Brooke Shields and her Calvins.
The DOE (yes, not the DOD) is currently refurbishing as many as 2,000 submarine-based W76 warheads at a cost of roughly $2 million each.
Make of that what you will.
Pine tree air-freshener in my Range Rover!
Why does the roman alphabet kerning always look off in East Asian implementations. It's always bothered me on Japanese pages, but Korean too?
1. Add a question mark.
...
2. Hell yes.
3.
4. Profit!

What else would they mount on Akula-class submarines?

The obligatory http://xkcd.com/1022/ would have sufficed.
It should be:
"Global warming: Is it making the Earth softer?"

Yet again, making me wish I owned a gun, yet glad I don't, since I'd shoot these motherfuckers in a heartbeat.
79 bucks gets you a gun catalog and a list of these Mofos.

I've got an iMac... and to add insult to injury, Growl got installed somehow.
My link got Lucased: http://www4.ncsu.edu/~mtmorris/index3.htm
George Lucas (Verb) Lucasing, Lucased (a) The act of committing graphics overkill.
Better update it. Lucas Electrical
Yeah I tried that "no honey, it's an ID verification device" line before too.
Are you a man or a woman?
