    This. When I started shopping for a PC in 1978, the choices were: Apple ][+, TRS-80, and Commodore PET...I picked the PET because it was so cool to be able to do "graphics" simply as printable extended ASCII characters, and animate them with PEEK and POKE directly into video RAM...

    You could do that with the TRS-80, too. (I am not sure about the Apple.) Unfortunately the TRS-80 "graphics" were blocky monochrome things... I was attracted to the TRS-80 because I thought it was neat that it came with its own monitor, and I liked the crisp 64 x 16 screen full of text. It was *not* good for most graphic games, but some creative types did great things with it (witness Leo Christopherson's Dancing Demon).

    I don't know how related Javascript is to Java but the last Java game I played was Minecraft and the performance wasn't so glorious.

    Believe it or not, the way to fix the problem is to create more sweat shops in China.

    I think that's an excellent way of putting it. I've always thought that we (here in the U.S.) were able to clean up the environment (somewhat) only by becoming affluent enough from the proceeds of those practices that dirtied the environment in the first place.

    I already wasted my chance to mod you "Insightful" by making a frivolous post. So I'll just say it here. Would you like your kids to settle for a job they hate? Probably not, and you shouldn't either. There are ways to do this without putting your family in jeopardy. Is there any measure of success in grinding away at something day after day, that brings no joy?

    The summary makes it sound like the shrinks are using an advanced technology, not unlike our present day telephones, to enable delivery of their services.

    You should say, "much like your primitive 'telephone' ..." It sounds more futuristic.
