I took a look around the different campaign sites it's clear McCain is EVIL!

I'm not American, but I took at look at the two programs... And McCain is clearly the dumbest of those two (no offense, just plain sense)...:)
I got quite a laugh from reading his weapon policy... And the rest of the "isues" aren't that smart either... Just look at the top of the page, if anyone my country looked in the air next to a sign that said "Country First", I'd probably find myself violating Godwin's law:)
(And I'm not German).
Anyway, Obama isn't quite socialistic enough for me... But I guess he'd get my vote, if I was American...
Offtopic, but:
Is it just me or is too many of the slashdot stories too sensational...
There's usually a good reason for what ever it was... Seriously the sensational story about german prosecutors not wanting to deal with small cases... The summary doesn't mention that the copyright holders can now just get the personal ip information directly from ISPs without a warrent. Now that sucks, and that's the story - not that German prosecutor wont handle small cases anymore.
Also the another story today: British Government Considers Tenfold Increase to Copyright Penalty
Really it's just meant for people who profit of copyright infringement. Still news as the definition of profits from copyright infringement may wary, but it's not a tenfold in general...
It's it just me or is Slashdot loosing objectivity and context in order to be sensational, can we please get boring news again?
(But true news...)
No cause coal is seriously bad shit... Especially if you don't reuse the waste heat for warming houses... Which is not the case many places in the world..
Of course one could argue that powerplants are more efficient than cars...
Imagine that a car was a free software computer program... Some people plays with free software in their spare time... But can everybody modify a computer program, or would some, if not most, be better of paying someone else to do it?
- Now a programming analogy about cars on slashdot, that's not something you see everyday:)
Ontopic: People plays with cars everywhere not just in the US... And it's not going to even remotely touch the environmental issues... All it can do is make the stupid crowed that reads about it believe that government regulations are not necessary... BTW: Don't take the "stupid crowed"-thing personal, IMO the crowed is just always stupid:)
Do you really thing the crowed as individuals are responsible enough that America doesn't need energy taxes and regulations... If they want to protect the environment in as much as everybody else?
IMO that bullshit! A few citizens playing with stuff in their garage happens all around the world... If you are responsible you'll need regulations in terms of laws!
Okay... I guess I'm tired... The other reply to you has got it right... So yes it would require more work...
Or maybe one should just put a chip in the cards instead and rely on trusted computing...
It's generally accepted that global warmning is true, just look at wikipedia... The only reason you say you don't know is because those who claim it's not true are heard because that's what everybody wants to hear...
Global warmning is most likely coming... And every other responsible nation, that's most European countries, are actively crippling their economy, in order to fight global warmning... Now seriously why can't you Americans do so too? Do we have to built more nukes to get you to act or what?:)
Also one could argue that environmental taxes doesn't cripple the economy, however it creates financial incentive to develop environmental friendly technologies!
You don't have to encrypt it just sign it with HMAC and redistribute the keys once a year... That can't be so hard. Actually it'd in most cases be easier than implementing traditional (a)symmetric cryptography.
You probably right network connection would probably be too complex and slow...
But implementing a simple symmetric encryption can't be that hard a problem. Or maybe asymmetric e.g. use digital signature...
At the very least they would use HMAC, and do key distribution manually every time they get cracked (or just once yearly)... HMAC or similar hash of a shared key and data should be very easy to do even in an embedded environment...
Google doesn't delete it... They move it to a new datacenter where the european privacy advocates can't reach your data... And then they mine it for decades to come...:)
- Or not, how would I know...
They shipped free cds to a lot of windows users... This marketing thing boosted their userbase and community.
There's alot of other minor factors that count in as well, but the Ubuntu success probably started because of free cds... And then the community came and now is mostly running on hype...:)
(I'm a Ubuntu user, but if got to be blind not to see the hype).
I'm surprised none of the stories about this mention how easy it is to VPN out of China and thus bypass any blocks they throw up.
The problem is that ordinary citizens in China doesn't know what happen on Tiananmen Square in 1989. Do you seriously expect the average Chinese citizen to be able to get VPN out og China, and risk his/her life/career on it because the sites are illegal.
I don't think proving that software patents and math patents are the same is going to invalidate software patents... Everybody knows software is math, that's nothing new... It was also known when the law was written...
In Denmark (Europe) gas prices is 9,44 USD/gallon; that's due to energy taxes.
However, the tax applies nomatter how the gas is produced...
Besides burning gasoline doesn't just emit CO2, it also emits a lot of unhealthy particles...
But yes, energy taxes in the USA is probably not a bad idea! I think it's called environmental responsibility... but I guess most Americans doesn't have that...
that doesn't sound all crazy...
:)
Somebody please, mod parent up!
But then again Google could always just ship Gtalk as a security update
MS is ALWAYS a hostile partner!

Clearly, McCain is using a Microsoft server and Obama is using mod_rewrite or similar technology... Probably a rather none-evil technology...
Also at validator.w3.org:
McCain has: 124 Errors, 44 warning(s)
Obama has: 8 Errors
I'd say this proofs McCain is evil!

"og" is the Danish word for "and", sorry about the typo... It's just that when I type too fast some simple words like "and" end up in Danish...

You can also find thirdparty binaries for windows... I played with ffmpeg on windows once when porting an app from Linux to Windows...
Nope, The american economy is very bad....
The dollar has fallen to the half since 9/11
But that's just my guess...
Back in my day we used floppy disks... (And I'm only 20).
I don't think proving that software patents and math patents are the same is going to invalidate software patents...
Everybody knows software is math, that's nothing new... It was also known when the law was written...
That is a good way to get put on the watched list as you will be seen as 'un-American'.
I hope that's a joke... Otherwise you should take pride in being on such a list!
Yeah... Your probably right... :)
Though the article has a few good points I don't think statistics are going to replace good old thinking anytime soon...

What about perpetual motion??
