  1. Re:Marketers mindset on Marketers Back "Cookies Are Good For You" Campaign · · Score: 1
Back in my school days, they would always tell me to include examples. Can you please give an example of beneficial online marketing, that is mainly- online advertising.

    What is wrong with generalizing?
people on /. think that anyone who tries to sell them anything is evil

See, I include examples. But, I'll even agree with you for sure, mainly because I am a man who believes strongly in generalizing. Generally speaking, of course.

People need to realize that there are two (or three) sides to every story.

according to Robert Evans, "There are three sides to every story: my side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently"

  3. This is just pathetic on Apple to Recycle your iPod for Free · · Score: 2, Interesting
Are consumers so repressed to where it is socially acceptable to sell a well-known poorly made product, and then offer us a coupon towards another one when it breaks?
Kudos to Apple, keep them jumping through the hoop... makes me wanna dance.

(perhaps this is just a rhetorical question)

How about a low latency LCD screen that doesn't kill your colour?
Most 8ms LCD screens will actually only show you 6-bit colour depth, maybe 8-bit.

That's their way around innovation, but capitalize off most people taking colour depth for granted.
A buddy of mine had a BenQ and had to return it, due to piss poor colour. So be very careful, It seems absurd to be gaming a directx9 gfx card through an LCD.
If you need a good refresh rate, and like to see more than 64 or so colours; stay very far away from LCD.

  5. a little bit more info... on Liquid Metal Cooling in New ATI Video Card · · Score: 4, Informative

Here's a little bit more info, no word on T1000's involvement.

However, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that owners of this new "metal liquid cooling" at a LAN party ending quite horribly.
I can see it start with a few leaks, the liquid metal all joins together... T1000 lives again...
