  2. Re:Weekly/Monthly Salary on Employers Switching From Payroll Checks To Prepaid Cards With Fees · · Score: 1

all the little checks that had not cleared yet have insufficient balance.

Not possible, as long as you have sufficient money in the account to cover the checks you write.

Oh, you don't? Then that's the problem, not the order they process the checks.

That depends on if they process all checks and debits before all deposits.

If they do all deposits first, then there should be no bounces/overdrafts. If checks and debits get processed first, then it is possible for the account to show as overdrawn, even if a few seconds later when the deposits are processed, there would have been enough to cover the checks. However, it seems that for each check that shows insufficient funds at the moment of processing would generate a bounce fee. And those could add up to where the deposits, when processed, would no longer be adequate to bring the account back into the positive.

Really, the ethical way to process would be deposits first, then checks and debits. Then if the balance shows negative, penalize the account holder for their carelessness. Otherwise, the account should be considered in good standing.

Or a "compromise" would be to process transactions in the order in which they happened. Then if a debit or check causes a negative balance, keep a tally of the fees incurred, but don't subtract it from the actual balance until all transactions are processed. And if the final balance is still positive, then call it a day. If negative, then take whatever actions are needed to get the account holder to bring it back up.

"Welcome to Heaven, dude. This is Jesus, and I am that guy who helped make all this possible, whom you have probably heard of as Judas Iscariot. Care for a brewski and a toke? This is the most heavenly shit ever devised."

Actually, we do have the right to freely speak without repercussions from government entities. That is in fact protected by the First Amendment.

What we are not protected from is repercussions from other people who may get butthurt over something someone may say. However, they are also not protected from repercussions for their actions either. And if their actions involve assault, tresspassing, vandalism, or anything else that is subject to criminal prosecution or civil liability...

Depends on what consequences you're talking about.
People around you thinking you're an asshole and never talking to you again? No, it doesn't protect you from that.
Getting arrested and jailed? Yes, in fact, it does protect you from that; that's the entire meaning of the term.

This needs to be brought up on any forums or social media sites where these discussions come up, every single time. The people need to be made constantly aware that the First Amendment protects them from gonvernmentally applied consequences for what they say. It would be frightful to see a day come when so many believe the GP's claim, that it does become the defacto truth.

We have to do something to close the cuteness gap with Asia. We must find a way to be more competitive in adorability or else our economy will get, well, ugly.

Children must be taught to pucker and smile more, or face consequences such as no TV or games. Perhaps those who are adorably gifted should be put in special classes to hone their skills.

America grew complacent after it invented the Teddy Bear and the Campbells Soup Twins and zoomed ahead of Europe in cuteness when the best they could do was mimes and nutcracker soldiers with big teeth.

However, Asia has grabbed the mantel and is kicking our non-cute little butts. Big butts actually.

This sounds like a task to be undertaken jointly by the Cutie Mark Crusaders (MLP: FiM), Gosalyn Mallard (Darkwing Duck), Kit Cloudkicker (Tale Spin), and Huey, Louie, Dewey, and Webby (Duck Tales).

That should be enough concentrated cuteness to close the gap with Japan.

Use an ext3 utility on Windows to mount the ext3 partition in Explorer and put all your media on that partition.

Make certain the ext3 utility does not auto load on boot. The ext3 partition is invisible to inspectors, and they have no reason to think there is anything hidden, and it is highly unlikely any inspector will ask you to fire up Windows' Administrative tools to look at the disk manager and make sure there are no undeclared partitions on the drive.
