I think we have witnessed the largest string of funny comments ever on Slashdot - and to think it all started by somebody saying that they had a supercomputer in their pants..
I can officially say that my comment is one below the last comment in this string to be modded funny.

the tapes we use hold 320gb using a Compaq SDLT device with laser compression - they are far more reliable than using a hard disk to transfer information
I used to work for a company which sent very very private and confidential data backups un encrypted - for that exact reason - when I started I voiced my concerns and put together costings to introduce encryption - needless to say they were too high... I have since worked for another company which dealt with a government body (and their data) which again sent backup tapes un encrypted with even more confidential data on them!.. I raised my concerns again - for them to be ignored - I now work for a proper company
this is very true - I dual boot my works laptop into Fedora - and am teaching my daughter computer use on Fedore and not Windows - in school she uses a windows box this will mean that she leans both OS's something which was lacking when I was in School - she can learn to use Word / Excel / Windows XP at school and then use my Linux alternatives at home - that way she does not get so used to 1 OS that making a switch later on is so difficult.
you lucky devil.. they wore a glove.. I bet you also managed to get them to use lube... Where I work SCO - we get the finger in the ass treatment each day regardless of us being at work or on leave (and they leave their knuckle dusters on..:)

Now I may be daft but I personally think that Leon belongs in the list - it may never have been the most popular film to show on Christmas Day but even so its a classic...

are we going back in time here?? I mean the whole IBM keyboard thing was sooo last week. Move on people:)
you have way too much time! on your hands - perhaps this is because you are so fast at typing and you complete all your work in employee of the month style?
you need to live in the uk - we hand out glass tubes filled with petrol and green dye to our eighteen year olds so that they can play starwars properly.
Anything which advertises what you can achieve with Open Source software to the masses can only be good. Hopefully this short will become popular and will not become just something else which only the geek masses know about. It would be nice to be able to play around with this however when they release the source.
the frustrating thing about this is that my taxes pay towards these two idiots new long stay in hospital - we have large waiting lists on the NHS for sick kids and people who deserve treatment and you can guarantee that these two idiots have walked straight to the front of a load of queues for setting themselves on fire - people needing plastic surgery (not cosmetic) now have to wait whilst these two have emergency skin grafts in their place.. I am not saying that they should be denied medical care - it just annoys me...
