  1. At least they're trying to be consistent on RIAA Trying to Copy-Protect Radio · · Score: 0
Hey, at least they're trying to be consistent. If it's okay for people to copy low-res media but not high-res media, then the line is blurred a bit.

In my opinion, it is the existence of free radio that makes it so hard to feel guilty about downloading illegal music. You turn on the radio, and you can hear all kinds of music for free. When the commercials come on, you simply switch channels and continue listening to more free music.

When people grow up listening to music for free...it's kinda hard to make the switch.

  2. Apple Management loves Steak, Lobster & Stripp on Why Apple Picked Intel Over AMD · · Score: 5, Funny
Everyone knows, except AMD apparently, that the management chain at Apple has a real sweet tooth for steak, lobster, and high-end strippers. The sales force at AMD seemed to have overlooked this key point when they came up with their sales strategy.

Sure, those AMD sales guys can put together a killer Powerpoint presentation, but the Intel guys know that the real key to making the sale is taking the management out for food, fun, and a night they won't be able to tell their wives about. If AMD doesn't figure this out quickly, their sales will continue to lag behind Intel.

    This is Sales 101, folks.

  3. Ministry computers to be powered by rickshaw on Indonesia Adopts Java Desktop System on Linux · · Score: 0
In a recent press release, it was stated that the ministry-issued java computers will be powered by a pedal driven rickshaw and have a wireless connection to the internet.

Critics have raised concerns that the decision to go with the the rickshaw-powered design will deprive the citizens of Indonesia from reaping the full benefits of the internet. The openness of the rickshaw platform prevents users from achieving the level of privacy that is typically required to enjoy some of the more popular internet prOn sites.

  4. This couldn't be any more obvious on IT Departments Are A Security Risk · · Score: 2, Funny

The IT department is clearly a security risk, let me explain. The IT folks have the ability to hit all the dangerous smut portals (without getting logged) and are thus are more likely to download the root kits that are often served up at some of the shadier bukkake portals (I wouldn't know...wink, wink) and thus infect the corporate lan. Management knows taking bigger risks could lead to bigger rewards. So, that's why they keep those smut-hungry IT workers around.
