Yes, IBM had this for all there tills that they produced worldwide. I had a job for a short time which involved being one of the people in the UK who went around to every single store with an IBM till, to check if they contained the dodgey caps, and replace them with a good one.
Hey, I might be able to believe that a "stunning, athletic, and intelligent 20 year old" is into Harry Potter, but asking to believe that you know such a person... ridiculous!
That is the method I use to decide on whether not to see a movie. I am so cynical now, that I will only read the negative reviews, and try to understand why people didn't like them. If they didn't like a movie becuase it had an unhappy ending, or left unresolved questions, that wouldn't necessarily make it a bad movie for me. If they didn't like the movie because it had hardly any story, and was full of plot holes, then I will not enjoy it.
Here is to more negative reviews.
What is it with this irrational mad scramble for everyone to find out if there friends are safe.
Got to find out whether my friends are safe...Got to find out whether my friends are safe
What are you going to do if they aren't rush down there and help out? Why don't you do that anyway.
I could understand if this was your family, but I think it is getting a bit ridiculous. Gets to the point where everybody has to ring everybody then ever new who lives in London, or even went there once for a weekend.
I went down this route, but found that when I didn't have an internet collection, that I just wasn't that interested in all the stuff (I hesitate to say crap) that I did download. And I was much more interested in the newer versions, only available on the web.
Created a text adventure when I was a kid. What was different about it was that it had AI characters that would walk around the house, occassionally picking up stuff that you needed, so you sometimes had to talk to people to find it if they had what you wanted. Didn't think that much of it at the time, but I haven't seen anything like it since.
Back to the topic, I am one of those people who are much appreciative of attempts to improve AI, particularly in this area, as it is one area that I am still amazed by.
The problem with common sense is that it is not so common anymore. People rely on being told what to do, they can no longer focus on the bigger picture.
Of course I blame the break down of society.
I have been telling my mates this for years. One of the problems with sunscreen, is that people put it on in the morning, then spend all day in the sun, whereas people who don't put any on are much more careful. People just don't want to hear it, how can tv be wrong
Of course, when I explained it to them I happened to mention that it was a conspiracy by the cancer foundation!
Yeah, but what are you comparing it too? He never mentions how long it took him to right, the article just mentions that it was released 24 hours after google came out with it.
And what is your version of something similar??
You are being quite ridiculous.
Right, because you did it in how long??
Not saying that it ain't easy, but realise that you are reading a dodgey news article, that is really trying to sensationalise the issue.
Wow, I really thought that people stopped believing everything they read.
That settles it. No more business from myself or my company for AMD. Intel doesn't have a monopoly, at least with PC chips. AMD is simply using this as a business tactic. I think that this is disgusting and abhorrent. AMD has permamently lost our business.
Come on Andy, can't you find anything better to do during your retirement?

Heh nice sig, maybe you could even make one that takes up more than half the page, just to give some sort of dramatic effect.
And this is maybe offtopic to the article, but I am responding to his sig, in spirit and something else...
Hope you aren't too offended.
I am not sure what difference it makes where he works, or whether or not he is doing it with someone elses job.
I mean someone can leave their job, and their position is taken up by some unruly character in the UK or the US. Happens all the time.
If anything, this goes to show that Indians are just the same as anyone else, mainly good.
And I do not understand the SPAM reference, I rarely get any SPAM...
Yes, that is why there is never any criminal activities, or selling of details in more developed countries, like the US or the UK.
Don't kid yourself...
This is just one person, who happens to live in India.
Disks for the Amiga did this, which was one reason they were able to fit a bit more onto each disk. You could never read an Amiga disk on an IBM machine.
As an aside, I have found that most people claim to know what they are talking about in reference to computers, actually no very little, and are spouting of an odd assembly or second hand facts that sound good. Don't trust what anybody tells you about computers, until you can learn to pick out these people.
Yeah, right... you must feel really good about yourself.
Maybe people are just happy to get an email that isn't from their boss telling them to redo the same bit of work they have been working on all week because the colour doesn't quite work yet, and not being told what the colour is. Maybe because it is not an email from that winging cow in the next cubicle, who is too stupid to realise that she could just stick her head over the partition and ask a simple questions.
Bad day at work, not me.
Agreed 100%. Microsoft should be shot for changing the logical search function of Windows 2000. Where is the logic behind it. Even though I come across it many times a day, it still shocks me how much harder they make my job. And I still don't feel confident that it is giving me the correct results...
Try doing something different, that challenges you. I felt the same way about my CS course, but then did Applied Maths, and that really pushed me to understand stuff I had never done before.

You know, there is only so much you can get from the Slashdot description. Sometimes, you just have to go ahead and read the article.

Or try the motorola C115, C116 and C117, all basic models with really long battery life.
Yeah, but what are you comparing it too? He never mentions how long it took him to right, the article just mentions that it was released 24 hours after google came out with it. And what is your version of something similar?? You are being quite ridiculous.
What about all the MOTO words marketing speak, just go to the website to check it out. MOTOTALK, MOTOMESSAGE, MOTOJOKE, MOTOREALLYHATEMARKETINGSHIT

It means you can play two games at once, of course! What will they think of next...
