I'm getting sick of all these 'gaming used to be much better' articles because it's just not true.
While I love classic games, I still play alot of my old favourites from all sorts of different platforms but only classics, It seems alot of people mistake old for classic. Just take a stroll through the library of any console, new or old, and you'll find that 90% of the titles are crap. It's those 10% of really good, inventive games that survive the test of time and still get played today - they're basically the reason gaming is fun.
Also the idea that today the good, fun inventive titles don't get made anymore is utter nonsense they still make up that 10% and they're the reason I'm still gaming.
The 2.50 charge per GB is only for mp3 players atm, iirc stichting brein hasnt put that charge on dvd recorders, media center pc's and similar equipment.
US makes mess = criticism US *finally* steps in to try and clean up mess it made = criticism
The thing that makes me wonder if the US is simply 'cleaning up' it's own mess is that the people who benefit from making a mess in the first place are the same that benefit from 'cleaning up the mess'.
The absolute worst cases you see on the street is in fact due to HEAVY use of harshis, not the harder stuff. But it also has diverse effects on people, not everyone reacts to it the same.
I live in Amsterdam, where softdrugs are legal and I know alot of HEAVY users and these are not the worst cases on the street you talk of. These people work at banks, IT whereever.
I'm pretty sure the situation is the same in other countries and cities but hidden because the use is illegal there.
The worst cases on the streets are not looking for rolling paper, they're looking for tin foil and needles.
Also, marihuana/Hash does not make you do and forget horrible acts like the ones you spoke of.
LSD could make you do that,Heroine, sure, crack, sure, Cocaine, possibly, XTC, possible if taken in large quatities but hash or marihuana.. No way.If you ever smoked a joint you would know this.
And the rotting brain thing? well sure THC (the chemical in marihuana that gets you high or stoned) does kill of braincells but IIRC less then alcohol or a punch in the head do.
What I'm arguing is that you can have a drug-free living with a much better and long-lasting high from doing yoga, meditation and service to the world. It is totally natural, have been practiced in the East for thousands of years and this is what everybody is seeking in drugs and other escapes from reality.
This sort of thing could be really bad for your social life, nobody likes a all knowing annoying that's-not-good-for-you-you-should-meditate hippie.
You probably thought 'what the bleep do we know' was a pretty good movie too huh?
I bought the AO rated Grand theft horror only to find I was misled by Rockstar.
According to the ESRB site a AO rated game is supposed to contain: "prolonged scenes of intense violence and/or graphic sexual content and nudity"
Well I got plenty of violence but in the nudity department, the only thing I got that came close was some fully clothed dry humping.
This is an outrage! I'm so sueing the caniving bastards.
Seriously tough, this whole thing is starting to look like the whole "comic code" thing from the '50's..(you can read more about it here: http://www.dereksantos.com/comicpage/presilver.htm l)
We may be laughing the whole thing off now but just wait until the smackdown comes..
Yeah that used to be a common feature for most games. The so-called "boss key".
Yet another innovation stifled by Microsoft when they introduced alt-tab.
Altough the game will still be visible in the taskbar but there's an easy work around, a background image that includes a taskbar with work related apps open. Just hide the real taskbar and all day long WoW sessions can commence!
There is a third reason and that's commodore's business ethics. Commodore was notorious in the industry for paying their bills late. Very late.
Standard practice at Commodore was to place large orders with small companies who would have to expand to meet the order. Commodore then withheld payments on the order which basically shut of the company's cash flow and they went belly up. Commodore then came in and bought the company for a song and a dance and forgave its own debt.
This was Commodore founder Jack Tramiel's business strategy, he called it the religion. This guy makes all the a'holes in todays computer industry look like saints.
There was also a big fraud scandal involving inside trading at commodore and numerous other reasons.
Altough these things happend early on in Commodore's history these things have a tendency to come around and bite you in the butt when you least expect it.

that says very little about the quality of RE
