Yes a high school student should understand that the computer they are using is not their personal computer if they or their parents didn't pay for it.
I can't wait to see how few people will request the refund and return the iPad. Because while I don't have or need one I can see that 4LTE is not the only way this one is better than the previous model.
The great thing is that after the airframes whatever they are going to call this thing are sitting in a desert, stripped of parts, the B52s will probably still be flying.
If that is the case, and it may well be, we need to just hang it up. Because we have too large a population to do nothing but produce software and services to support software production.
We are screwed.
Do you expect the complainant in a lawsuit to "paint a picture" of all the great things the company they are suing is doing?
Amazon may or may not be pure evil but the author of this post is a dumb as a stump.
Worked real well in Iran a little over a week ago. Drones seem like a great way to turn over leading edge tech to those that are our enemies or will be at some point in the future.
I'd be willing to bet there were a lot hof happy pilots in the AF and Navy when the CIAs drone landed in Iran.
Less Dangerous != Not Dangerous at all.
The VAST majority of people are capable of talking on the phone and driving at the same time. As I was driving to work this morning I stopped counting at 100 the number of drivers I saw talking on the phone and yet I didn't see a single accident or near accident. From my 20 minute study today and since there is no reason to beleive that the phone use count has changed much in the last 100 days where I also haven't seen an accident I'd have to say the the accident rate is something well South of.01%. I can live with those odds.
I'd much rather see anyone that cause injury due to any accident that is their fault be punished than everyone puinished.
Thinking the other way is what gets us things like the TSA at airports.
Capable yes actually do it, at least the airline, not so often. Especially in areas where other land based nav aids aren't as available as in the US.
Some above also mentioned radar. There are huge gaps in "frinedly" radar coverage in that area of the world.
Also the UAVs have pilots just like the drone. They just happen to be located somewhere other than the airplane.
What happens when Iran or some other country uses this technology to cause one of our manned combat aircraft or worse yet a civilian aircraft to overfly their airspace and then they shoot it down?
They get to make suggestions to other government agencies, congress and the states. They can't enact anything. The FAA often ignores them completely.
If you use their logic with cellphones then the state should outlaw talking to passengers especially children. I'd be willing to bet that the number of accidents cause by drivers interacting with their kids have caused an order of magnitude more accidents over the same period of time.
Now I would have no problem at all if the states had an add on fine if investigation found that the accident was caused by the driver using a cell phone....or the car radio....or talking to their passenger.
But just saying X lives will be saved is silly unless you are willing to also publish the X number of lives that would be saved by doing some other regulatory action.
The line between "the press" and the average citizen has to be drawn somewhere otherwise anyone with a copy machine or now a computer and internet connection can say they are a journilist.
The those who penned the constitution understood this or else they would have just had the freedom of speach clause and not the freedom of the press clause. They even set up a government organization to draw that line. The court system.
First we aren't talking about Canada. It is easy there just follow the prints in the snow.
But even the Canadian law has the "without lawful authority" in it. It doesn't say "without a warrant."
I have no idea how the Canadian courts have interpreted that law.
That is great. Now we don't have to worry about it any more and have close to 100 years to get those people moved.
Thank God the US isn't a democracy.
Last two times I've been fingerprinted for CCW & work reasons it has been each finger, all 10 fingers (minus thumbs) together and palm of both hands.
No, that is a state not federal issue. The federal government is granted no power over such things by the US Constitution.
Well they don't everything a "flying car" would do. Like ever being a car.

This will do wonders for duct tape sales.

Let's make all water and soda bottles out of it and require littering.
Come on /. minions. Five whole minutes from the post of the story to the first post referencing Planet of the Apes. That is just sloppy.

Great, do you want a government to also protect you from people that can't talk to a passenger and drive at the same time?
There has to be some point where the government needs to butt out and let Dawin take over.

I want a government not a nanny.
And most newspapers run letters to the editor. No difference at all.

And if they can find it and retrieve it from 6km down they have earned it.

Again we are just talking about economics. With enough money they can follow you 24/7. And the tunnels worked out so well for the Branch Davidians.
Yes they can. There is no ruling that the police can't follow you everywhere you go 24 hours 7 days a week other than the laws of economics.
