After thinking about it I think the reason is that I don't get NBC digitally. I can't find anywhere that the broadcast flag is transmitted OTA on analog signals.
It was an RCA 12" model with a single button remote. This single button pulled back a striker that made a noise that changed the channel. You chose which of the channels was an OFF position.
The big problem with this design came years later. You see, the TV wasn't real particular which metal clicking sound it took its' orders from and one night when I was sneaking in after curfew I took some change out of my pocket and put it beside the TV.
I'll bet you can guess what happened next. The TV came on and it was loud enough to wake up everyone in the house.
Diagonal measurement has been used for longer than 30 years for TV measurements. I'm 46 and picked out my on TV at age 8 and they were measured that way then.
Becasue tactical fighters are sexier than bombers and they certainly didn't want to put the A- (Attack) tag on it then they would have had to park with the A-10s.
I had a base simple cash register when I owned a liquor store a few years back. It stored totals and sub totals for about 8 classes of merchandise. The data was there but there was no way to get the data out other than via the tape.
Just as a Data Point. I recently changed the settings on my iPhone from Check mail only on command to check every 15 minutes. I was charging twice a week. Now I charge every other day.
While I'm not a huge McCain supporter and I'm certainly not a Clinton supporter I have to say there is a WIDE difference between the generic religious right's statements what ever they might be and the words of a close friend and personal minister.
If you think otherwise you are just kidding to yourself.
1. All the bills are on the web usually much longer than 5 days before a vote.
2. While that would probably require a Constitutional Amendment (which pretty much drops the simple out of it) what makes you think lobbyists would have any more trouble swaying votes if the congress critters were in their home districts? Also, it would make legislative oversite of the executive branch a bit more difficult.
At the time of signing in to vote you tell the poll worker which party primary you want to vote in. You can only choose one. The machine had three ballots (Dem, Repub & Green) only the one you picked can be selected.
Now let's say you picked Dem and the guy setting the switch thought you wanted Repub and you were too stupid to tell the difference and didn't correct them. The counts would be off.
If you read what I wrote you will see that I added the Vet spending to the Defense budget.
But any program that moves money from one individual to another because the other can't or won't work or can't or won't pay their own bills (medical bills included) does fall into the wider definition of welfare.
I'm not saying that welfare is good or bad but the government is constitutionally required to defend us not to feed, dress and handle our medical care for us.
And one other point. Most of unemployment is paid by the states so that number is low.
You are just plane wrong on this. According to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:US_budget_2007.svg the Defense makes up 19% of the budget. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Unemployment, Welfare, make up 56% of it.
If you add in some of the 0.9% of agriculture which includes food stamps and Education and training and Community and regional development which has got to have some "welfareish" stuff in there that's another 3.1% and 0.9%.
To be fair I'll add the 2.5% for Vets to the defense budget though in a lot of cases it could be counted in either block.
That would work if the artist produced one copy of the CD and charged X million dollars for it. Then they have earned what they think it is worth and everybody who wants a copy can make one. But who's going to pay that X million? Nobody, that's who.
So instead they make lots of copies and sell them each for a much lower price.
This silly economics thing is getting eerily unknown, even on slashdot. I blame open source.

TiVo supposedly honors the broadcast flag. I wonder why this didn't stop my TiVo from recording Medium?
That is a very deep thought. It's bull shit but it is deep.

Leave it to NASA to pay $80Mil for a $4Mil product.
BBCAmerica runs it 3 or 4 times a day.
MIRV Multiple independently targetable reentry vehicle.
If I were Pakistan I'd be very concerned.
The US government and every other government has had the right to check your stuff at the border for, well, ever. What makes a laptop any different.

Cyber Operations Command. COC
Every military base, and most larger units (and some small ones) have a public affairs officer. The DOD has a huge public information department.
Why should the DOD or any other organization let someone else frame the entire discussion?

It should be a vehicle that enough people would buy to be practical to build. And 200 miles is NOT enough.
Did a federal, state or local government body shut down the site? I didn't think so. The 1st Amendment is not in play here.
