To put it all into perspective how bad IE 8.0 is when it comes to web standards I tested a two year old install of Konqueror (KDE 3.4) and it gets a score of 51%. The best IE 8.0 can do is 17%.
The laugh is many of these companies (including Meizu) would not have had any legal issues if they had used the free and open source ogg format. Many games now use ogg rather than put up with the patent trolling nightmare that is MP3.
be more like medicine were only a specialist familiar with the problem can actually advise or operate. Can you imagine a plastic surgeon doing brain surgery, no and it would have massive legal consequences if it did happen. So why can Judges with no technical understanding in regards to the subject matter he is dealing with advise or take any action ?
the US government don't want their citizens going to Cuba is because they might see a national health system that works and is 10 times cheaper to run.
Yes Im being sarcastic..
so it must be a table seems to be the logic behind dark matter to me. Ive read allot about dark matter and Im coming to the opinion that it doesnt exist. My personal take (and others) is what we are observing are the effects of complex interactions between our dimension of space time and others.
This disaster can actually be compensated for to some degree by moving earths orbit further out from the sun using gravity assist. What you do is capture a large mass be it a comet or a large asteroid then put it in elongated orbit around earth. As the large mass now circling nears earth it pulls on the planet thus moving it ever so slightly. Few billions year later and earth has moved far enough out to avoid annihilation for a few extra billions years.
Blackboards implementation of this technology is shockingly bad (Im being nice with that comment) so they will have to start fixing these problem or watch the market stagnate. If I was Desire2Learn I would patent all the improvements/methods (totally legal) and then submarine Blackboard every time they try and improve their product.
No, ask yourself, when you retire would you be happy if your income was 20% lower ? So if some rich geeks with iphones from Yahoo say "hai dude were the good guys
so were not selling your stock so "you" can make a fat profit and retire in comfort. Yahoo's board forgot they are a company that "is legally bound" to represent the interests of their shareholders not their own weird pride or symbolism.
it took so long. Yahoo has been on the ropes for the last few years and then to deny a golden parachute to the shareholders is just pure pig headed stupidity.
Although wireless internet be it WCDMA, GSM, whatever is functional for email, browsing etc for games/VoIP it's total rubbish because ping times are often around 600ms.
When you work for a company you are paid for your services within a fixed time. Does that also mean that a company has the right (very grey area legally) to define what one says or does that is not related to the company in your own time ? My personal take is CNN have crossed the line and Chez should take them to task for infringing his constitutional right to "free speech" (does anyone actually respect free speech anymore).
The author is off base, Linux isnt free when presented with the same features as Windows ie codecs. Thats why we have $$$ distributions that sort all that out for the consumer. What is an issue are people downloading free versions of Linux then being stupidly surprised that the $$$ bits are missing.

I recently listened to a podcast about risk analysis using software. What I found amusing is the World Tower (9/11) attacks had a high prediction but the pointy headed ones called it an aberration so ignored it. You can have the best analysis on the planet even with a 99% certainty but all you need is some pin headed public servant to ignore it either for political or personal reason and the whole thing falls apart.
You can put whatever you want in a contract but it doesn't over ride legislated law ie consumer law. Im not sure about the UK but here in Australia having contract that lies about a consumers rights (or infers a consumer has no rights) can leave you open to a hefty fine of $10k per case.
IBM "Im going to fist you till you scream Oracle"
Oracle "your disgusting, say you truly want me again that turns me on"
IBM "I....."

Oracle "whats wrong ?"
IBM "I just felt a stirring in the source.... almost like millions of programmers said WTF!!"
Your last name would'nt happen be "Knight" and your first being "Black" ?
More info can be found here and a short video here if you find reading a challenge so you can clearly understand why we are laughing at your comment

Did a bit of Googling and found there are a few people working or (or have created) a Moodle/Facebook implementation already. http://nogoodreason.typepad.co.uk/no_good_reason/2007/10/first-ou-facebo.html http://www.vitalect.com/content/moodle.html The later may be your biggest worry as they are a commercial entity.
Wouldn't it have been easier just to extend Moodle with Facebook support ?

to make sure no one can create an alternative version of iTunes with it.

Greed is one thing but to short change someone's retirement funds for symbolism is stupid.

bother talking to us. An artificial inteligence system could do trillions of calculations by the time a human asks "are you happy ?"
cant use emails, they haven't even evolved from using paper and charcoal yet.
