Meanwhile, in Congress, new laws (H.R. 4729)are being forged right now which may make a good judge's interpretation of these issues moot in the near future.
Not to mention that biological systems are uber-FAR more complex than our current computer tech. Doctors are in a position of relative ignorance that makes garden variety IT folk look like wizards.
I agree to a point, but when a corporation no longer provides a net benefit to the nation, why care if it leaves? Maybe we should even show them the door. The hard part is determining the net effect of corporation's presence -- it could be directly detrimental, but indirectly supporting other beneficial corporations. It's about as easy as figuring out what is really "green".
People buying new alternative energy cars (even hybrids -- anything new) in mass would only contribute to the consumer debt problem. The average person, the masses, if they spend 10 minutes looking at the real economics of an automobile will discover that gas is still way cheap. It will be 20 years+ before any of the envisioned alternative vehicles are as economically sensible to own as a $3000 car and even $8 dollar per gallon gas.
...the future is at odds with Al Gore, and will tend always to surprise him and chafe at the positions he takes... Classic. Damn......and here I thought Al Gore invented the future!
Great. That sounds like the bus trip home after losing a junior-high sports match. "No fun for anyone until the planet is saved!" Yeah, thanks coach.
Maybe the only kind of fun that's OK is the kind that clever "scientists" have while being paid to go white-water rafting, thanks to the insertion of the magic words "global warming" into their grant application.
Saving the planet is only a priority for those who can afford it. The best barometer of Western economies is the number of people engaged in planet saving. When things actually get bad, people go back to worrying about saving themselves.
Don't worry, they would definitely bring it up to date with lots of bling, Matrix-sytle special effects (paperclip-time?), and a hip (hop), young cast. It's the formula for making a buck by selling the soul of an old series. They'd give Richard a cameo to keep the geezers from going postal.
Indeed, if the 360's Blu-ray support is as good as the PS3's, Sony will be in serious pain. I have been planning to get PS3 as a Blu-ray player, but I'd much rather have just a 360.
Yes, the ever-growing legend of the Avro Arrow. At this rate it's soon to be indistinguishable from Chuck Norris. Oh, and you left out the conspiracy theories.
Thank you Captain Smartass, Blockbuster's long-term outlook notwithstanding, it was a smart move for them, similar to BestBuy's decision to stop catering to bargain hunters.
Many people care enough about a particular cause to contribute money to an organization, thus producing lobbies for things such as that for "guns" and "the environment", while others are automatically paying for the "labor" lobby as part of just having a job. It's just that we disagree about what's important enough to give money for. My mother wouldn't give the EFF a sidewalk penny.
You underestimate the Radeon 9600, it's considerably better than minimum spec. I built my son a comparable machine (Athlon XP 2500-333, Radeon 9600 PRO, 512MB RAM) over 3 years ago. Everytime I buy a new game for my machine I tell him, "Well, this one probably won't run on your computer.", and then that damn thing proves me wrong!

That's a great quote in your sig., but perhaps a bit auto-ironic:

You're new at this University thing, aren't you?

The very fact that companies can get away with treating their engineers like dirt just means that they haven't actually hit a worldwide shortage yet.
There, fixed it for you.

Damn I wish I had some of my unused mod points about now...

Let me guess, your ex dumped you after the fourth time you told her she was "dead in Japan".

Yeah, just wait 'til your girl starts tellin' you to "Man up" and serve her instincts.
Word.

Yeah, that'll hurt 'em. They'll go down in flames just like Blockbuster did when they drove out all their unprofitable customers.
Myself and my son named Isaac would obviously agree.

A piece of pertinent data is worth a thousand (code) lines of speculation.
Excepting Vista, of course. I don't feel the need to run AV on my Vista machine.
Hmm, this "crouch in your basement" thing sounds intriguing. Is there a newsletter published pertaining to this?
