I sent an email along to Mr. Zhidkov:
"I recently picked up a used copy of "The Black Mirror", which was infuriatingly difficult to install thanks to your "StarForce" copy protection features. I acquired this game legitimately and found it very insulting having to prove I did so, as well as frustrating to wait 5+ minutes every time I started the game while your software verifed the integrity of THE ENTIRE GAME DISC. Now you're threatening to sue Cory Doctorow for letting the public know, rightly, the kind of damage your software can do? Your company is in the same dismal league as Sony (their rootkit was an abomination) and you should be ashamed of yourself for being so malicious toward Chris as the honest people who still have faith enough to BUY their copies of software instead of steal it. Do everyone a favor and find another line of business. Copy-protection simply makes life harder for honest folks. Pirates will always break it. Grow up."
Jerk.
Justice would be having the RIAA foot the bill for all her legal fees. Wait, no... Justice would actually be the RIAA putting money back into its rightful hands altogether. I feel bad for her.
I guess if M$ didn't dumb everything down for customers, those same customers might actually associate the SP2 recommendations with a threat. Oops, forgot that people who aren't responsible for their computers don't move, huh?
Libranet is one of the few Debian-derived systems that can claim to be 100% compatible with Debian. Its main distinguishing feature is the Libranet Adminmenu, which is on par with Mandrake (Mandriva) Control Center and YAST. Adminmenu is simple and effective, and has allowed novice users to see results of "technical" procedures first-hand, which they can learn from without having to pass the grade just to use their computers. The greatest merit of Libranet is its tightly knit and devout user community, where humor and spirit abound and the answer to any question is usually contributed mere hours after it is posed. Libranet has a rich history, a great following, and a future that its proprietor really ought to consider hard before giving it up. Anyone who hasn't tried this distro has really missed out on a unique and effective approach to Debian GNU/Linux.
I love the Outlanders manga, and the anime was alright. I kind of with they would create an anime more true to the story, but eh. The original dubbed version I heard had pretty decent voice actors, and I think they should be called in for a second run.
M$ Against freedom? How un-american! Is that the kind of feather they really want in their cap? I hope the mass media gets all over this sickening censorship campaign. There has been no finer of example of M$ selling our souls for $$$.
It has bugged me that Knoppix has yet to include GNOME. Maybe the new DVD release will have it, if its absense was due to space constraints. It's as easy install GNOME in Debian as KDE is.

The RIAA should be slammed for emotional abuse.
