    i4i, however, is not now, and has not ever been a patent troll.

    Unlike a patent troll, i4i produces an actual product. An actual product, which, after working with Microsoft, Microsoft unilaterally stole.

    i4i is not a patent troll, unless you are trying to spin the story so that people think 'poor Microsoft'.

    Hopefully, that won't work here.

    Except, there are no patent trolls in this case. i4i ships and sells an actual product, the patented code for which Microsoft actually stole after working with them.

    i4i is an actual company, that sells actual products. They worked with Microsoft, and Microsoft, line for line, stole their code. i4i subsequently sued them, and won.

    The guy with a Mac sitting at Starbucks blogging about his new car. The dude at the bar with a bluetooth headset in his ear while he's not even on the phone. They guy tooling down the street with a Segway to get to the Apple store for the new iPhone. They're all doing something functional, and look pretty damn cool doing it.

    The kid with the netbook directly jacking into the school server to change his grades. The Navy Seal with the headset and mic relaying position information. They dude on the skateboard doing an ollie over some trash while trying to get to work on time. They all fit into the category of 'look at me, I'm important, please take notice of this so I can feel better about myself.'

    So yeah, you didn't have a point at all, did you? :)

    A simple proxy server can /not/ bypass his ruling, and will do /nothing/ to prevent enforcement of the ruling.

    Anyone using a proxy will be assumed by the courts to be from the Netherlands, and the due fines will be charged, else face forfeiture posessions and/or imprisonment and/or penalty of being legally barred from the internet for a period of time decided by the courts.

    Proxies don't help much if you're in jail.

    Seriously. The answer is easy.

    The whole thing on the 'decline of handwriting' is just silly. Anceint Greek isn't taught in most schools either - should we lament the 'decline of 26 year olds being able to understand Ancient Greek'? Of course not.

    They can't write in cursive because cursive is either not taught at all, or taught poorly at best - and /nobody cares/ whether or not you can write well.
