I must say, im actualy excited. I have always wanted to play D&D but the groups here are rather exclusive and hard to get integrated with. I hear a rumor that in order to join, you have to roll seven natural twentys in a row!
what about Eclipse?
btw:
Eclipse
a kind of universal tool platform - an open extensible IDE for anything and nothing in particular.
although i realize eclipse is not soleyan IBM producy, neither is Mozilla
perhaps my random speculation in openSolaris article is true. This, i believe, is another sign pointing towards the apperance of openO/S2 (or perhaps commO/S2).
"The Solaris OS is Sun's supported operating system offering. Future versions of the Solaris OS will be based on technology from the OpenSolaris project."
perhaps i am just being cynical but it sounds to me like Sun is gonna open Solaris 10 wait for the OS community and then take all are code and put it back in their own propreity software. Has any one read the license?
On the other hand, now we have solaris open, darwin was always open (though aqua isnt), how long till we see openO/S2 or OMG *gasp* OpenWindows(tm)?

I personaly rejoice, while the show isnt perfect it taught me quite a few interesting things.. like how to build a hovercraft out of a leafblower.
does it run linux?
if only it was green and made of light.... of course then you'd have to deal with the fact that it could kill you if you werent careful. oh well
update: english has come back up, many others still down
correcction: all the wp's but the japanese one are down.
Why is wikipedia down??? has that ever happened before?
...is how long till u see those Avalanche Longhorn ISOs floating around? I 3 Irony.
Didnt feel anything here either. Our dog was fairly upset for no reason though.
whoops, now i see that u mentioned it in 1st paragraph. i feel stupid. sorry.

and once every other major operating system is (somewhat) open source (I count OSX cause at least darwin is open). how long can m$ hold out?
they HAVE been very succsesful with Eclipse.

good point, then make it *gasp* OpenWIN32(tm)
as per ur last paragraph. look at the license FAQ:
last question:
Can Sun ever take away the OpenSolaris source code?
No. The code is available to the community forever.
I dont like this statment in the FAQ
"The Solaris OS is Sun's supported operating system offering. Future versions of the Solaris OS will be based on technology from the OpenSolaris project."
