The price you pay at the store already includes "the CD tax." If the store is charging you extra money, it's really an "idiot tax." ie: you'd have to be an idiot to pay it.
CD taxes are supposed to be paid by the manufacturer/importer. It doesn't even come close to the retailer or consumer.
So if the Future Shop is charging you a "CD Tax", then they're just pocketing that money.
Am I stealing from you if I visit your site and can't see your ads? What if I'm blind and have a speech synthesizer speak the text to me (and ignore the banner ads)?
Unlike the PC world, no Mac browser rules. I'm forced to use 3 or 4 different browsers every day.
IE 5.1 for my banking and similar stuff. Omniweb doesn't work. Mozilla doesn't work. Chimera doesn't either. But IE 5.1 is just shit for normal browsing. I hate that bug with the blank parts of pages.
Mozilla for general browsing. I love the tabbed browsing feature.
Chimera when I want Mozilla to be pretty, with the nice Quartz rendering. It doesn't do anything else right, though, including java or flash, or even just normal forms.
Omniweb can be a general browser too, but a lot of the sites I visit just don't render so well in Omniweb. But I love the quartz text.
Some schools have a "conduct unbecoming a student of *schoolname*" policy.
Basically, if you do something that the school doesn't think one its students should do, they have a right to punish you. It doesn't matter whether it's in school or not.
Also, you'll be happy to note that in Canada, our Supreme Court has ruled that students in school have no right to privacy, nor do they have unrestricted free speech. Just like you have no right to privacy or free speech in your own home if your parents so choose.

I really don't get it. China kills a bunch of students in Tiannamen, is a ruthless communist dictatorship, and yet the USA has, at every opportunity, sucked up so bad to them.
Why doesn't the USA treat China like it treats Cuba?
Why is it China gets preferred trading status with the USA, while Cuba gets an embargo?
It seems to me that the USA _wants_ China to have a shitty government.
Remember the Red Hat to buy Be rumour?

Well, at current stock prices, it would be a steal. Any one looking to pick up Be & Beos, now would be the time. Be = cheap stock.
It was strongbad:

Most uk.co people still had almost 10 months left before the transfer.
Why so much trouble posting comments on this article?
Did somebody apply the "do not post" registry to this article?
What's the reason for pulling the plug in the UK? Just not economically feasible?
This doesn't look good for the future of a Canadian version of the TiVo.
Dude!
I thought that said "Sex Tips for Homemade Dot Mac Servers"!
My girlfriend sent me this link earlier today
That's the difference between Mac geeks and non-Mac geeks.
Mac geeks have girlfriends.
RMS is probably disassembling Jaguar, looking for evidence of any GNU code.
Then he'll start correcting people for calling it Mac OS X or Jaguar.
"It should be GNU/Jaguar"
Don't Jaguars eat GNUs?
This is a case of deja vu. Is someone messing with the Matrix?
Bullshit.

take a look at:
SpeedChimera
It enables "pipelining" on Chimera. I think it's the same thing, isn't it? It really makes page loading faster on my Mac, anyway.
This is the equivilant of 40 first posts, isn't it?

iChat does that.
I just wander in range of someone else who is using iChat with my iBook, and they automagically appear on my buddylist.
Orange Crush Rocks. 'Nuff Said.
Apple having registered iphone.org doesn't prove anything.
Take a look at mammals.org . What does that mean? Apple is bring a new kind of mammal to the computing market?
Yeah, I already have an internet-connected robot that mows the lawn. It's called a teenager.
The standard is the TIA/EIA-568-B.2-1
Of course the rest of the world will use TIA/EIA-568-A.2-1. Isn't it only the USA that uses 568-B?
Yes, but will it make forwarding decisions based on MAC addresses?

The real reason we're only seeing this now is not because of some ingenius RGB separation, but rather some serious KGB separation.
The Canadian speeds are metric. And in Canadian dollars too. So when you compare it to the units of measurement used in the U.S., it's about the same.

What's with the sequels?
If it's Final Fantasy, how can there be part two, part three? Not very final.
Almost as bad as Neverending Story, Part Two.
