The simple reason this is happening is Google Books. From the OCLC FAQ:
# My library has been contacted by a commercial search engine company about contributing our catalog for use in the search engine's system. Does the Policy permit the transfer of WorldCat-derived records from our catalog to the search engine company?
Since the search engine company is a commercial organization, there must be an agreement in place between OCLC and the search engine company prior to the transfer of WorldCat-derived records. OCLC can let you know if it has an agreement with the search engine company in question. Please submit a WorldCat Record Use Form to OCLC or ask the search engine company to submit a WorldCat Record Use Form to OCLC and we will reply within five business days.
This sort of metric will actually help the 'web 2.0'/ajax-ey parts of Google. If you measure the amount of time I spend on GMail- it is all day, every day. It's always open in a tab. Same with Google Reader and I refresh my iGoogle homepage once in a while. I bet this will show that GMail has a much larger marketshare than was suspected because it is no longer tested on the basis of page views.
To be only partially nitpicky, Discover is now owned by MorganStanleyChaseManhattanBankOneFirstUSADiscover Bank (yep, all under the same ownership). But your point is correct and I agree!
Don't think he has been "bought" but a bill supporting Net Neutrality is being pushed by Democratic representative from... surprise, surprise... Massachusetts. Here is his work on Net Neutrality.
While it may be illegal to show a child psychologically damaging content, there is no law regarding MPAA ratings. They are the industry self-policing itself so that the nanny government does not get involved.
Major politica action groups like truemajority.org already do this. They send you an email saying this is the issue (e.g. net neutrality) and this is the text of the message we would like you to send to your congressman and these are the people you should send it to. If you go to their page, you only have to click 'Send' to send it via email. Since the site knows your information, it will automatically craft the email and send it to the relevant politicians on your behalf.
Maybe we can put together a similar action group for "gamers' rights".
This is not a rumor- it was officially announced by Google today. Also, even though the API may have already existed, this allows people to create and manage accounts through the API.
3-DVDs at a time is 17.99 and they go all the way down to 9.99 for 1-at-a-time and up to 47.99 for 8. As I said, prices have only gone down since I joined 4 years ago.
It gets worse- if you try to report the problem here: http://support.adcenter.msn.com/ and you click on the link that says "I am having difficulty creating an account" it takes you to an Email support form that *requires you to enter your adcenter ID*. I thought I just told you I was having trouble creating an account and now you *require* my adcenter ID? Some people just don't want my business...
I've been using Tom Tom for a while now and it works pretty well; the GPS units themselves are more flakey. You should find deals for less than $200 if you look around.
This is what it says in his tech policy: "Barack Obama supports the basic principle that network providers should not be allowed to charge fees to privilege the content or applications of some web sites and Internet applications over others." Go read it yourself: http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/issues/technology/Fact_Sheet_Innovation_and_Technology.pdf
Don't blame me; that wasn't the wording I used in my original submission>/a>!

Because when monopolies compete, you win.
If mod points were more carefully controlled, your post wouldn't have a score of 5 either.

They are voluntary, I believe, the same way the movie ratings are voluntary.
Except that now, with two low-quality posts in a row you have risked a lowering of your Karma!
Swarga means "heaven" in Sanskrit/Hindi.

Well said- this is sort of what Microsoft is doing with Live.com

Wait, what? When did Netflix have a price increase? I have been a member for 4 years and only once has my rate changed- it decreased.

This is true- unless he attached a note saying "Sell the Picasso!"
Maybe because it's multi-GB per email address for free?
You can add users from a CSV file.
You can import user accounts from a CSV file; to to "Advanced tools" in the Dashboard.
I agree with some of what you say, but you can get in touch with them if you want, including feature requests and extra email user account requests.
Google's GMail (for your domain or otherwise) does offer POP now; I don't know if it did previously.
