The apps were not "Infected" by the droid dream malware -- This would mean that malware was wandering around, infiltrating developer machines and the Marketplace itself... No. Instead, said malware payload was purposefully introduced to innocuous looking apps...
Sorry, but using logic to defend your favorite platform has no use here. Please move along.
I know it seem insanely obvious now, but the term didn't really gain traction until Apple came out with the iPhone around 2007. Don't believe me, then believe Google Trends.
I'm pretty sure others (like MS) were using terms like marketplace, download center, central, etc. before they decided to jump on the App Store band wagon
Gee, Sony just catch a break lately. I'm wondering if they are going to be asked to appear before the US Senate to explain their actions, just like Apple and Google? I think this is a little more serious than just tracking my phone location.
I'm not trying to start a flame war here, but you honestly think that Apple saw the Prada design and then completely changed their design in one month?? Are you implying that they had spy's or something? Check out the history of the iPhone
On September 7, 2005, Apple and Motorola released the ROKR E1, the first mobile phone to use iTunes. Jobs was unhappy with the ROKR, feeling that having to compromise with a non-Apple designer (Motorola) prevented Apple from designing the phone they wanted to make.[14] In September 2006, Apple discontinued support for the ROKR and released a version of iTunes that included references to an as-yet unknown mobile phone that could display pictures and video.
So basically, somewhere around September 2006, Apple was already working on the iPhone. As you are most likely aware, Steve Jobs is a perfectionist. I would speculate that this "phone" wasn't just rushed out. My guess is that they were working on it at least a few months (maybe more) prior to this date. So by you implying that Apple changed their design to copy the LG Prada after they made their announcement in December 2006 is somewhat laughable.
Also, up to the point that Apple announced the iPhone, the rumor mill was abuzz with what an Apple phone could be and what it would look like. A lot of places had "mock-ups" and "dream phone list". So it's quite possible that LG and Apple came up with their design concepts independently, but perhaps both were "inspired" by what people were talking about.
Prada was announced December 2006. The iPhone was announced January 2007. So you're telling me that Apple designed, prototyped and finalized their design for the iPhone in one month? Seriously? I mean, I know Apple is an amazing company and does some amazing designs, but I really wasn't aware of how quick they were too.
Seriously? I think it has more to do with a company trying to make a product that looks like Apple's. It leads to customer confusion and enough people have commented how when they walk into a store the sales person normally quips that the Samsung "Look's just like the iPhone, but... ". So it's pretty obvious to everyone, except for the FUD patrol, that there's enough similarities that it might be true.
Wow! I thought you guys were a myth or some sort of statistically anomaly. I really didn't think the "Consumer That Wants To Rent Music via Monthly Subscriptions" actually existed.
So, do you know more of your kind? Where do you live? Do you breed? Is it true that you were created in a lab from record executives scrapings and dead lawyer parts?
I was the same with Baseball, but I started paying $99 a season to watch it through MLB.com. I hear you can do the same with Hockey, but not sure about the other sports. I'm going to assume they are all going to have this option eventually.
I cut the cord 2 1/2 years ago and I'm not looking back.
I don't know why Google, Apple and MicroSoft don't create a consortium to do this, something akin to the RIAA. Maybe like the CIA-A. (Content Industry Association of America). That would alleviate any "monopoly" concerns.
Disgusting, but judging by the response they get on sites like this, effective.
I'm not a fan of China (I actually will look to see where a product is made and if its China, I try to find something made somewhere else, albite that's been a lot harder the past few years).
I'm not so concerned with China right now, I'm more concerned about the direction our government has been heading lately. Body scanners, phone taps, internet tracking, domain name seizure, property seizure at the border. The list goes on. We seem to be losing our freedoms in the name of security, but the average American seems to be more concerned with the finalist on American Idol, than stuff like this.
So, the more our faults get pointed out, I say "good". Maybe then we will see change for the better.
When did this pattern start? Remember when Sony used to be pro consumer (e.g., sony walkman, VCRs and the betamax case, dual deck cassette systems, etc)? Did their anti-consumer agenda start when Sony bought up music labels?
That and movies. When they incorporated content into their business model, they lost their way.
Lodsys Sues 7 iPhone Devs and 1 Andriod Dev Over Patent Infringement Claims..
Lodsys sues 7 app developers in East Texas, disagrees with Apple; Android also targeted
No, no. That day is when Steve Jobs throws chairs and people refer to them as $pple. Sheesh.
Sorry, but using logic to defend your favorite platform has no use here. Please move along.

Um.. this is iPhone, not Mac. Unless you meant "Year of Apple Attack".
Content is king and if they ain't got the content, then they are not really going to be able to compete
I know people seem to like to bash Apple for DRM, but who do you think is pushing for DRM? (Hint: The people that control the content).
I wonder what the ESRB rating is, mom won't buy me violent games. She's such a commie.
Couldn't the municipalities just build out the fiber and switches and then lease it to a separate entity to provide the "management and service"?

Wasn't the guy live blogging it on Twitter saying that "The noise alarmed him"? Not sure the "stealthy" part worked out so well.
I hope it isn't true, but I really hope that our elected government weren't waiting to do this at a more convenient time... like election time.
If that's the case, I really am glad that WikiLeaks may have fast-tracked this operation.
Well if we're handing out theories, Eric Schmidt didn't to get a sneak peak at the iPad like he did with the iPhone. It probably slowed them down a bit not having the Google R&D machine (spelled m-o-l-e) behind him.

I have a hard time trusting a proposal like this that comes from an administration that includes a lot of former RIAA and MPAA associates.
I don't know why Google, Apple and MicroSoft don't create a consortium to do this, something akin to the RIAA. Maybe like the CIA-A. (Content Industry Association of America). That would alleviate any "monopoly" concerns.
I'm sorry. I don't believe you. A real Canadian would have said "USA... go fuck yourself, Eh."

There's no "might" about it. They do have a point and they are correct to point it out.

Well, when you program a browser to do less than everyone else's I would assume it doesn't need as much power.
