Oh good. Noob hackers need a new platform to practice on. Windows exploits are SO 20th century.
If their knock-off OS is anything like their knock-off lunar rover, it should be as stable and secure as the first release of Win95, providing no end of fun for wannabe malware authors.
I'm with medv. I much the way people wake up just before their alarm clock goes off, I think we subconsciously keep track of where we are in the book, and the pages give us a concrete measuring stick to judge by. Then we can relate passages of the story to physical locations in the paper book, giving us more of a timeline reference. At least, that makes sense to my experience with ereaders v books.
As an old DECcie I loved VMS, but then I was coming from RSX-11m. It made for a pretty good software development system. One thing that can really hold it back though is its file system. While it is a robust FS, it is very closely coupled with the OS. There could be some real problems if/when people want to run it on something like ext4 or ReiserFS. Bodes for a whole new set of drivers and fs converters. Sigh.
wonderful. that would be the only way to stop them, and it is certainly appropriate. and thank you for the education. I had no idea they could lose their OWN shirt. excellent.
"Well, we said it, but we didn't really MEAN it! I mean - come on, just think of the incredible 0.0001% loss of profits! How can I justify that to my stock holders?"
Attempts have been made to fill that hole, but there is no way to train support agents in everything they would need to know. Only those who have already encountered issues know how to get around them, and the software companies couldn't be bothered to investigate as getting out the next rev of their software has a timeline that must be adhered to and effects their bottom line much more than a few disgruntled customers.
If such ideology as yours was what this world really wanted, we would still be trading with an Apatheid government in South Africa. As you note, history is full of examples where economic pressures have been used to create social change, but unlike you I see that as a normal expression of the hallowed "free" market. I don't see anyone going to the guillotine, do you? Or are your just being hyperbolic in order to be completely out of our solar system?
Target practice.
Mom loves the way the meat glows when you cook it!
total gold. and for free. most excellent.

you have no idea what you're talking about. if I "must be young", you must be unborn.
Why would anyone listen to this paragon of paranoia?
... rules. I have been on a WRT54Gs running DD-WRT since I can't remember, and I really see no reason to mess with something that ain't broke.
The vaulted Speaker of the House has already stated it is a better metric to judge them on how many laws they have repealed. Oh... nevermind.
the Berlin Wall goes back up.

Just what we need. From the people who brought you the Yutu moon rover...
a common-sense decision from a Patent Court.
A fair trial. Amerika? Hahahahahahahahahahaha. Tell me another.
AT&T also said their service representative would be there at 10:00am. How'd that work out?

It is not certain that we would recognize it if it was right under our noses.
The Plasticene.

Geordi's glasses can't be far behind. Excellent.
and free eviction notices for their parents. Such a deal.
You will pry my syntax-highlighting from my cold, dead hands.
