No, its more like a fire piston. https://www.youtube.com/watch?.... Of course, because its so small and moving so slow, the piston has a closed end, but with the railgun, the projectile is moving so quickly that it can simply compress the air ahead of it in the barrel against the other air in the barrel fast enough to cause it to ignite.

Its not their weed killer and customer service that is in question with Monsanto, its the fact that they hunt down and sue people who's crops have accidentally cross pollinated with their neighbors crops, and now carry Monsanto's patented genes. Its the fact that they have been infinitely careless with their genetically modified crops, such that some have escaped into the wild to a degree that it is virtually impossible to find wild samples of the plants in question that do not contain the modified genes Monsanto developed.

I don't think the president has much of a say in the vehicles they use to transport him, and "The Beast" exists mostly because of Kennedy and various other attempts on American presidents. Besides, there are far more effective ways for the president to "Lead" us into a greener future. (Maybe cutting back on those vacations that are half a planet worth of jet fuel away for one.)

He was being paid by the hospital, to use the model aircraft to get arial pictures of the hospital, for the hospitals advertising campaign. I doubt trespassing was the issue here. the FAA's primary problem is that he's running afoul of their "no drones for profit" rule, and they are using the bystanders and helipad presence to make him seem more vile and reckless. TBH, no one probably thought the idea through worth a hell. (really? your going to fly a model plane near a helipad?) but at the same time, the FAA's "You can't use a foam glider with a camera for profit" rule is over reaching.

The difference is, Manned model ships serve a particular purpose. They are pretty much always used for training, as they are designed to handle and react like the full size versions. I work in a small grocery store, and I assure you, even our delivery trucks don't go back empty. from our small store, at the very least, two bales of cardboard weighing about 500 lbs each go back on, along with dozens of bags of plastic for recycle, pallet size cooler boxes, along with a few stacks of pallets from the previous load. More than once I have seen the driver arrange the load so the all heavy stuff (the paper bales and pallets) where on the left side of the trailer, and the light stuff on the right. When I asked him about it, he told me that the forecast called for crosswinds to be from the left on the way home, and he was arranging the trailer to keep it from tipping. Decent truck drivers know all about wind, and how to compensate for it.
