Yeah, and this gives them the right to steal land, drive people out of their homes, assassinate activists around the world, secretly stash nukes, turn racism into law... ?
Get real: Israel is a military/religious dictatorship with overly racist overtones; exactly the opposite of what the U.S. stands for.
The comments below pretty much prove it. Which is a shame because they lump in the American Taliban version of Christianity that wants to codify the Bible into law (much like how the Afghan Taliban previously implemented Sharia law) with those who just want to have their faith and are happy to merely live and let live.
If you take a better look at the taliban, you'll see that most of their supporters came from the ranks of "ordinary" religious Muslims, believing the taliban's promises that laws based on religious interpretations would benefit the society.
Sorry, but religious people are quite easy to manipulate with the help of "theological interpretations" - be they Christian or Muslim!
There were virtually no consequences, domestically or internationally, about that, alas (in terms of anyone doing anything about it; what it did to the economy on the other hand...)
except that you'll have a very hard time finding allies for the next war...
That's ok. They don't get what they want either, plus they'll have lowered their status in everyone else's eyes. And once they've developed nuclear weapons, they'll lose any credibility, if they keep whining about it.
Once they *do* have nukes, their credibility will be miraculously restored! Look at Pakistan, India, North Korea, Israel,...
Dude, you are still talking about remote access. Can you absolutely guarantee that your box at home is clean? This might be good against random or scripted attacks, but a determined attacker would have you pwnd in a sec or so!
Same thing in steel mills (construction material), seamless pipe manufacturing plants and petrochemical plants in the middle east...oh, and they were just on a different *logical* network than the corporate machines.
My former employer's (industrial automation) SOP is to hook up a WEP (yes!!!) encripted AP's on the net so that their specialists had access to the network from everywhere within the plant...
Air gap, it should not be connect to the internet in any form or fashion. it should only be networked with other scada computers and nothing else. Physically seperate networks than the rest of your systems. The Department of Homeland security will come out and interrogate you about it if you ask them. google SCADA site:dhs.gov for there guidelines.
IMHO the standard multi-layered network security approach does not always satisfy the security needs of a process management system.
you really don't want your windows machines to update themselves: NO NO NO NEVER!!!
Just imagine the operators' dumb face when WinXP goes into a restart during some critical operation, this could seriously ruin a plant managers Tuesday!
One important aspect is the internal security, people are lazy, and if you allow the to use a USB drive somewhere (management demands reports in electronic form!) you can be sure that someday some admin will need an aspirin and a new job!
The best approach is to have a 2 tiered network: PLC's and SCADA... and basta!
Just keep away from Simatic and Wonderware!
Better yet, keep away from ANY kind of winXP implementation.
Oh yeah, don't forget to *physically* lock all USB ports and external media. Of course, you should make sure that there is no network connectivity with the outer world. And I mean none! No multihomed machines, no VLAN's etc.
And, of course, if you see all alarms going off at once...run:)

They get their stuff produced in china and assembled in the US, probably for the lowest possible wage!
Germany has some roads without any speed limit whatsoever, and they're safer than comparable roads elsewhere in Europe.
Well, Germany has no speed limit on some (less and less) highways (Autobahn), where you have strictly divided traffic with special safety measures (side rails etc.). And even there you have a set of supplementing rules for driver behavior on these roads.
Without all of this, you can bet your shiny, meaty, a**, you'll see a lot of injuries and deaths due to some morons buying 24h joyride tickets:)
Yes, you sound like one of those tin can pushing checklist peckers. We have some of those left in our club.
While you guys sit day in day out in the bar, telling each other flight stories, we, the Ultralight MoGas Flyers... fly!
Oh, and the chicks dig us more than they dig you... ye know, bigger balls etc:P
Well, I have to return this compliment:)
He was referring to a profitless sale by the manufacturer. Ie. selling something just to bring in the manufacturing costs.
Try analyzing the sentence again;)
They'll sell Ireland to the Brits!
Do good for your people; time to blow up a few lawyers...
it is a Chinese company. They sooooooo dont give a sh** about California law. Oh, and count the rest of the world in as well :)

Ok, I guess this makes him human again...
...how many are there then?
I bet you'd like to manage all of these workers and get a "decent" pay for this? You're sooo corporate! :)

I wholeheartedly agree :)

Yeah, but this guy *reads*! Compare that to the last pres. the US had! Makes him kinda less evil :)

his mental and physical shape is vastly superior to the average and his abilities are way beyond the lesser men to comprehend.
You mean he's on cocaine?

AFAIK Socialism was the first to push for more worker rights. Democracy just gives the rulers an excuse for going against the society itself.
