Too bad this was an AC b/c it needs to be modded up. Propane Zambonis are emitting CO, but this isn't generally considered a pollutant or irritant like gasoline engine exhaust (yes, yes, in can still kill you, especially if your ice rink is only 500 sq. ft.). So it wouldn't be any more problematic for that poor asthmatic child than some beer-swilling guy in the too-tight hockey sweater one row behind him.

It would also be awesome if people acknowledged that there's more than one subgroup of cyclists, and that some of them treat the roads differently than others.

This is a great point. I ride my bike for transportation, but I mock the "cyclist" with all the gear and garb, probably for the same reason I mock people that customize their Honda Civics. I know it is some people's passion and hobby, but it's not for me. So I am not a "cyclist", but I ride my bike because sometimes it's the only way to get where I want to go. And when I ride, I am paranoid of drivers. I give them every opportunity to do what they need to do and enough room to make a lot of mistakes. I know I have a right to be on the road, but my rights expire when I do, so I'm more concerned with getting to my location without dying or being injured than making a point. I am sure if I rode my bike exclusively, I would get a bit more adamant about cars being more bike-aware, but as it is, I think reality (that is, assuming the worst of people and that ALL people are unsafe jerks, regardless of the type of vehicle they're using) is one great way to stay safe. As a side note, it would also be interesting to compare cycle vs. car accidents and pedestrian vs. car accidents.

Part of intuitiveness is recognizability. You may disagree, but the fact that you almost certainly understood my last sentence even though "recognizability" is not actually part of the existing English language, lends at least a little bit of credence the other way. If you want to talk about building interfaces off of already recognizable "standards" that makes good sense, but if you want to compare UI elements to elements in a language, then part of the fun is that the dictionary is always growing. Your idea also doesn't take into account that parts of Apple's or Microsoft or whomever's UI suck.

Sure - as long as your worship doesn't involve what Christians would call evangelism and other religions would call proselytism.

Basically, you've got a pretty loose definition of "freedom of worship". If freedom of worship means sitting alone in your room thinking about your religion, then there's freedom of worship everywhere.
