I can attest with that speed difference. The other day in the middle of nowhere, OK a friend and I were both loading the same videos from Youtube. I (VZW) used the specially designed Youtube app for my phone and he (ATT) was using the RTSP links from their website (I don't know how the Youtube app works so I don't know if it would affect speed). Anyhow, by the time my phone had finished downloading the video he has still only halfway done downloading the same.
The font is obviously to blame for this. Actually on my display, using Times New Roman, there's only what basically equals a single pixel difference. The stem of the n in rn is moved to the left one pixel in an m. I imagine that something similar happens with the font of your newspaper...
From my understanding of how the "Share this on Facebook" links work, wouldn't Facebook be able to block the referrer to impede these Share links from working?
A better apology would be say 100 people bought the same car then each person fabricate a few parts and gives it to other people who are then able to form the full car after collecting the pieces from the other 100 people. I think what they are trying to prove is that a individual that uses bit torrent is only giving another person a part of the info they need to complete a file. For them to be able to prosecute they would have to prosecute everyone who is sharing the copies. All or none basically. I believe fair use laws are being used to somewhat protect bit torrent users in this case. It may work for a while but i have no doubt that the politicians will start to make new laws specifying that even a part of a file is equal to the whole file.
Some of my school's classes are done through Cisco's Network Academy, which will only run effectively in Internet Explorer from my experience. I use Blackboard all the time under Firefox, and don't struggle to run it in Linux either.
They say it "requires Office XYZ" but what they mean is "you need to be able to create and edit Word compatible documents". Most users are going to take the statement "requires Office XYZ" literally because they don't understand the alternatives, and the people saying "requires Office XYZ" are probably even less likely to understand that there are even alternatives available.
This is something that has impressed me about my current college; all of my professors who require their students to submit works digitally have taken the time to point out that their are alternatives to Microsoft and how to get them, namely OpenOffice. Also, all the campus computers have Firefox 3 installed as the default browser, although they have Office 2007 for productivity.
This isn't news to me. On my computer which has a Belkin Wireless G USB adapter and dual boots XP and Ubuntu, I've regularly noticed that doing a speed test on Ubuntu gets results up to like 200% faster than a clean XP install, and 120-150% faster than a tweaked XP install (using SG TCP Optimizer). YMMV.
Wtf is this anyway/.? Seems like these are just about trying to show the flashiest thing they can find and calling it "teh Best <whatever/>." I still use a Logitech LX3 myself.
Takahashi is the third most common family name in Japan per number of households per here. And Rumiko Takahashi wasn't associated with Rurouni Kenshin from what I recall.
Precisely my thoughts on the matter. The handful of low bandwidth sites I've worked with that had SSH would have endless logs of failed attempts. And it seemed a large percentage of which even came from within the data center that hosted the servers (probably a sign we should've changed hosts, but that wasn't my call).
I actually think I've seen some of their hardware before; but, I didn't know they were still around, so I guess I'm in a similar boat as you. S3 Graphics
If you own any property in the US, for the most part it will take about a minute (give or take, depending on how much one knows and how common your name is) to find your address, land line phone number if any, and year of birth. And that's just starting with a name and a state. So if someone wants to find you it won't be very hard anyhow, but YMMV.
John Galt.
I have an evil overlord gene, can I get a reduced sentence for trying to take over the world with giant robots?

Either they have no 3G coverage or one of us is color blind (well by that link alone).
That's about the same problems encountered by the Israeli's throwable robotic eyeball.

Too bad my mod points expired a few hours ago...+1, Funny.

Its not really that difficult in the right places, even if you're not an illegal immigrant.
There, fixed that for you.

He didn't play SimCity 2000 either.
Who's this Noone guy?

I've been awake for over 40 hours now, but did anyone else think of data loss caused by icebergs when they read the title?

What's it say if I went to Hulu after reading this article?

Unless these guys are your debt collectors...

Or just tell everyone to send you messages encrypted with X PGP key. Then when you get mail, if you can't read it after one decrypt, trash it.
