I was surprised that if I did *exactly* what the rifle range instructors at Parris Island told me to do, I could hit 9 out of 10 at the 500-yard line. M16A2, open sights. I had never shot a weapon before, but the 500-yard line always helped my score a lot.
Um, you don't have to wait to volunteer. Operation Live Free or Die occurred in your neighbor state. You can walk your own precinct. You can join your local meetup group. You can organize your own sign waves. The message certainly doesn't get out if we all are waiting for the call...
The most interesting quote of the story: "Over time every vendor is going to be asked to provide typical energy use numbers for their equipment. It's what the EPA wants,..."
This is a new use of the word "asked" that I'm not familiar with...
And it's not about saving the customers money, it's about what the EPA wants??
I'm sure many (myself included) are in the same boat. I built my P4 rig several years ago. You might want to consider the hot rod specs on ars technica when you make the plunge.
"Overwhelming government infrastructure to make it (democracy) work"? Isn't that somewhat of a paradox? Did America have "overwhelming government infrastructure" in 1789?
Thanks for your great post. But don't forget that the topic at hand is satellite launches. It is very interesting that SpaceX, with Air Force support, is trying to launch the Falcon at this time of NASA budget cuts...
Twenty years ago, I remember flying in and out of La Paz, Bolivia. The airport is at 13000 or so feet; the Bolivian airlines 727s could take off and land only between 7 PM and 7 AM local. And this was during their winter.

The current Federal Reserve chairman, Ben Bernanke, would disagree with you about the causes of the Great Depression. He says that it was the fault of the Federal Reserve. http://www.federalreserve.gov/BOARDDOCS/SPEECHES/2002/20021108/default.htm Check mises.org for other economic information.

After I read Hofstadter's article, I thought that some computer application would probably be needed to track the current law code.
An excellent beginner's guide to economics is Callahan's "Economics for Real People." Free pdf is here: www.mises.org/books/econforrealpeople.pdf

Hmm ... "drive users to convert voluntarily" ...
Yes, if miles were 5180 feet each ...
Right, I was going to comment on how no one lifted the laws of economics recently ...
I think I got some of that on my screen when I read your post ...
