If you spend billions on a shuttle launch you ensure jobs for people who want to go into aerospace. Take the money away from that so you do not have any shuttle launchings and you have pretty much removed it from most people's minds. I remember growing up in the 80's and the shuttle launches were a big thing. Now it hardly receives any coverage. It would be great to have a president with a mind for the future like JFK. . Intolerant, they are absolutely. Focusing on far right is incorrect because far right would not use war as way to control but would be total isolationist. Also, it is hardly dominated by evangelicals because most evangelicals I know can't stand Bush or the neo-con Republicans. This is something portrayed by the media, as a few books have come out showing the Bush regimes true feeling towards Christians and how he used them to further his agenda.

Because transparency is bad in a world market if you are trying to maximize your profit. The more convoluted the system is, the harder it is to for price comparison to find what the real value is. This was a problem at first when the Euro was made the dominant currency in Europe. People in one country found out quite easily they had been overpaying for the same item offered in another country by the same manufacturer. Similarly, if you make people buy different units just to use something that should be transparent, they get used to it and then they come to expect to pay more because that is how you have trained the consumer. That is why you need people like Nader around. He is good for consumer rights, but not good as a presidential candidate.

I agree with what has been said to a point. The problem I have noticed, and this my interpretation, that lately people seem to use such language more because they actually do lack vocabulary and a proper way to express themselves. I must admit that I do take some pleasure when I insult someone and they know they have been insulted, but are unable to understand it completely because they lack a decent vocabulary and an understanding of the English language. A slight smug look along with a well crafted insult and they walk away feeling dumb as they should. The problem I believe is that least has become acceptable instead of the pursuit of the better. Well, that's my two cents...
