    Everything boots from CDROMs and DVDs these days, and nearly all computers have them installed. Most computers built in the past 10 years have DVD drives and no floppy drives. Death to the deamoness floppy!

    Why can't the manufacturers use bootable ISO9660 images? To update my LSI RAID card I have to boot to floppies? GAH!

    Until this administration, hasn't the White House been a 100% MSFT shop? Somehow the U.S. Navy manages to stay afloat with many systems running Windows server OS. Then again the Navy can afford to have lots of people massaging/patching/rebooting the Windows boxes 24x7.

    Reminds me of when I didn't use my powered-off, fully charged Thinkpad for a month. When I tried booting it, the battery was completely drained so I had to plug in the power supply. I think the batteries can't hold a charge even if the device they support is completely off. I'd like to see if the same behavior is observed when a fully charged battery is left disconnected from the Thinkpad.

    Some people could probably be trusted to own fully automatic firearms. These people will never run amok killing dozens of former co-workers but in some states we "punish" these people when we prohibit anyone from owning machine guns.
    I'm glad of this. EVERYONE thinks they are in that small minority who can drive while talking into a cell phone. So either it's illegal for everyone or for nobody.
