IBM has long been a self-proclaimed champion of Linux. Despite what the desktop Linux vendors do and say (I'm typing this on a ThinkPad running Ubuntu) Linux has been taking market share from Solaris and the other Unixes rather than from MSFT platforms. How does IBM keep AIX alive and promote Linux while it also pushes Solaris?
Q: Does anyone expect Oracle to turn Solaris into an appliance for running Oracle and MySQL only?
You are inadequate if you think Thomas Kinkade is an artist. I clicked the link in your sig and now I need to flush my browser's cache and wash my hands.
Yikes!
I always thought that cig smokers these days (smoke free offices) have an extra bit of motivation to get stuff done quickly because they will need a smoke in the near future.
I'm not against all farm subsidies. I'm against them when they support big agribusinesses and factory farms growing livestock in unsanitary and inhumane conditions.
Let's subsidize small, family farm operations, especially if they grow "organically" and rotate their crops annually, etc.
You reminded me of that great gif someone made years ago. http://www.bobcongdon.net/blog/2006/04/sun-microsystems-new-corporate.html I guess in a year or two Oracle could force you to buy their hardware if you want to run their software.

Contrary to the opinion of most overweight gamers, martial arts skills also do not carry over into meatspace.
It did not run aground on a shoal or beach. It sank.

Yeah right. nplz.
Or maybe he's talking about the people who have ordered iPads and are expecting a visit from United Parcel Service.
Awesome English composition, dude.
I don't know what this means. Do people hang out near the uninterruptible power supply at work?
WAT
Sure you can. You could sue me for disagreeing with you. I DARE YOU!
The cave would ideally be in a granite mountain where the radon from the granite would quickly kill them.
Cyber-Mongoloids? Cyber Mongolians?
WAT
The latter. Or to put it another way, "yes."

Yeah that policy is another remnant of the Cold War. Isn't that war over yet?
Amen brother. The corn subsidy needs to die. HFCS needs to be reclassified by the FDA. How they ever classified it as "natural" I'll never know.
While logged in a root I thought, "rm -rf /"
Damn.
I don't get it.
I can't think of anyone with more integrity. Just kidding.
Isn't there already a non-Snorcle fork of MySQL?
You forget the board members went to business school. That makes it harder for them to apprehend what's happening the real world.
You sure it isn't piracy as well?
