Case in point this one. there are 5 different links which go to 5 different places. is there one link whihc goes to the actual article or is it just a mashup of information?
Can someone tell me how AD is licensed? I thought it was a part of server 2003 and once you buy that there should be no additional costs right?
Our Sys Admin is planning to install ad for our office (we used never had AD before) and I am trying to figure out what if any the advantages of getting AD will be.

what if I lost an external hard disk with music only. now all my mp3's have my email in them. Not that it will have far reaching impacts but hey if a small thing like encrypting can keep a persons identity hidden why not do it.
I agree. instead of storing the users name or email why couldn't they store an encrypted string which they can map back to if needed. it the least they can do in protecting the users identity from strangers.
i seriously doubt that an email which can be easily changed in a file can be used as the sole grounds for pressing charges. It ma however bolster a case where a user has been tracked by IP and the files have his email too.
to see if they actually did used to for enforcement how would they track someone down and on what basis would they press charges? Yeah your email was in that file. hell anyone could change the email using some tool and upload stuff.
The whole thing seems pointless.

my point was that the email in the file can be modified pretty easily. not really the most concrete evidence.

Facebooks platform is probably teh best place to experiment with this idea. Unless someone has done it already.
Afaik javascript cant be used on the backend (app tier) at all. so its should be pretty obvious what they meant.
