That is a stretch. In any serious court of law, the emotional stuff will be thrown out also. The prosecution will have to prove specifically that she committed each charge she was listed with. If they can do that, fine - but ultimately if you have a non-biased jury they are going to probably find that it is too much of a stretch.
It wasn't that long ago that some guy was in danger of being jailed for years because he created a Myspace profile of one of the kings of his country. Are you saying he should have been thrown in jail over it?
I applaud the Bush Administration for taking a large step towards addressing global warming and putting action to words of hypocrites like Al Gore who burn up the skies in their fancy jets. This also means we can afford more bullets to kill A-rabs cha cha cha.
Whether that cost is in the licensing terms, functionality restrictions, lack of interoperability, vendor support, etc. the cost can always be measured unless every single aspect of the 'free' software is on par or greater than every single aspect of the 'cost' software.
Why no mention from the self-righteous that uninstalling a copy frees up an activation and you can theoretically install it on 5 computers, un-install from all 5 then install on 5 more computers?
Oh - because it doesn't benefit your knee-jerk "copy protection is evil" dogma.
Relying on students in a small region who self-identify themselves politically without any control mechanism to place them politically and then extrapolating meaning from button presses in a single experiment doesn't seem to be scientific to me, the non-thinking conservative. It seems to be a shitty experiment good for grabbing a headline for left-wing circle-jerks.
I think this is pretty interesting. I'm running Delphi 7 Enterprise at my office... downgraded from 2005 because it sucked all kinds of ass. I recommend Delphi to anyone who wants an easy RAD that is powerful as well. Delphibasics.co.uk is a good place to get your language basics out of the way.
I have no problem with what the Police Department did. For those who bothered to read the article, you will notice that many of the groups did indeed conspire to conduct unlawful activity or find ways to breach security for whatever purposes. Other groups planted hoax bombs, disrupting traffic, and other non-peaceful activities. I am 100% for the right of peaceable assembly and peaceful protest. I am also 100% for the safety and security of those who are being protested against. If this means that groups which are open to the public end up with a couple of interested parties gathering information to facilitate the latter - then so be it. There is no 'right' to 'privacy' when you open up your membership to anyone. I am also quite certain that the same sort of activity took place at the DNC in 2004. I also support that as well. Freedom of speech doesn't give you the absolute unhindered right to express yourself by bringing harm to others - or endangering others.
I am curious as to when we can expect advertising in-game? I would find my time playing games much more productive if I could also be made aware of products that are available to purchase. Also - I would like to see if it will be possible for the PS3 hard drive to have software installed that will track the amount of time I look at each ad and send to the parent company so that our ads are relevant to our interests. I find that what concerns me most as a consumer and game-player is utilizing my designation as a consumer to its utmost productivity for the overall economy during my down-time from purchasing 'stuff' of playing games.
This isn't that much of a surprise. The HD-DVD has not enjoyed the discount that Amazon has offered.
I'm perfectly happy with standard DVD for the time being. I'll wait until the two duke it out to the point where things become really affordable.
Isn't that the same argument that the Bush administration offered for failing to find WMD's in Iraq?
"Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence."
I think Rummy said that IIRC.
In any event - I would hope that we beat everyone else to space with those weapons.
I think if everyone pursued members of Congress with the vigor that the *IAA does whenever they broke copyright law - we might would see some changes in that law. Don't hold your breath for major companies to make waves however.
Sony is the only company I can think of off the top of my head in which I feel personal glee and satisfaction whenever their "next best thing" in (pick your area of entertainment) flops.
From the times I've been burned by their customer service, to the times in which I've watched others get burned - I find that I am honestly amazed that these morons even run a profit.
Yes I am exaggerating when I said "lots of characters" because I was only informed of a single character (I didn't create) being banned for using 3rd Party Hacks
I would not use a power-leveling service. I play 2 hours or so in the afternoons and at the time my account was 'hacked' it had been dormant because I had gotten married and never renewed. I have no illusions about getting to a certain level, I just play because I enjoy it - not to get certain levels or equipment.
I had a single character on a single server. I use the same name for any MMO I play, and I play a single character constantly. I don't run alts, I don't try to speed through the game. I do 2 or 3 quests per night and go to bed. I also don't stay subscribed. I play for 2 months, then a few months later go back. I am an irregular player who doesn't have the time to religiously run towards the high levels. I also am not dedicated to WoW and have no desire to miss most of the game to skip to 'end game' content because from everything I have heard it gets boring at that point. I play a few levels while I'm interested, and come back when I want to play more. The highest I leveled was 36.
I rarely visit 3rd party sites like Allakazam - I generally just bumble my way around. My account was compromised after I had uninstalled WoW and formatted my computer when I got married last July, then purchased and built another computer 2 months later, then started receiving emails from Blizzard tech support. I thought they were responding to bug reports I had made in June/July. Not long after I got an email saying my account was banned (on a server I had never played on, for using a character I had never heard of). I reset my password and contacted Blizzard who agreed that it wasn't me on the account and offered to reinstate it pending faxed information. I declined reclaiming it because I felt insecure with their security system considering another member of the guild I was in had the exact same thing happen.
How someone can get my username/password from a computer which didn't have WoW installed, and had been formatted, is behind a router, and has no spyware (I do not allow scriptable support in my browser without going to a trusted website) perplexes me, and the multiple 'hacked accounts' reports during the timeframe (from a Google search) tell me that something was going on besides random compromised users.
Right. I have no faith whatsoever that information contained in any sweeping database will be utilized only as the initial purpose indicates.
Before long, the government will want to justify some "for the children" measures such as receiving information of everyone who searched for pornography online in an effort to investigate "child pornography" by building a database of people who view pornography in general.
What about the person who writes a scathing critique of the administration or who runs for public office and who has a bunch of dirt collected online that just shows up by a query to this database?
I can be honest and say that the government most likely doesn't care about what you do - unless you get in their way, or unless you become a threat in some way to the existing power structure. While they may search for some law you have broken, they may 'incidentally' find other information on you that is not illegal but can be used as fodder in the media.
I can see no justification for this system that outweighs freedom and responsibility in this country. The Federal Government should stick to its Constitutional mandate and let the states run their own business affairs.
If radio station owners are forced to give 'equal time' to ideas that never sell, it will run them out of business - or into playing music.
Worse - I would rather not have the government in charge of what I am and am not allowed to spend my day listening to. The government should butt out as a rule. Quit throwing stones in glass houses, they have their own corporate sponsorship to worry about.
I still haven't reclaimed my account. Someone got a hold of it, charged it with playing cards and power leveled a bunch of characters until getting my account perma-banned for using '3rd party hacks.'
This was after I left the account dormant for a month or so. Another member of my guild had the same thing happen, and his characters were deleted as well. No account-sharing going on, and my password was not one that would be guessed, and as I don't visit any of the WoW fan-sites or things like Allahkazzam or whatever I didn't pick up any trojans. I'm thinking Blizzard has a vulnerability on their end, and the dongle would simply not solve the issue of stolen accounts.
I had WoW uninstalled, and was using a new computer so had not logged in for a bit - nor had anything on my computer to indicate that I was a WoW player when my account was hacked.
I'm selling my old copy of Armada II (another Mad Doc title) and anyone who has the PC version of the game can point out the Armada II C header files, and code in the game that says//"COMMENT THIS BEFORE RELEASE" which is left uncommented. Also a picture of one of the developers with his pet goats, and the background nebula of one of the stages who's texture is a direct RIP from the movie Star Trek Insurrection.
Mad Doc seems to have blown their budget on voice actors, hookers, and on their overly elaborate opening logo video.
I think that the answer lies somewhere in the middle. It has been scientifically proven that:
A. The polar ice caps on MARS are melting.
B. Temperature has only raised 1 in the past 100 years on Earth.
C. The sun is burning hotter
While these facts alone do not exonerate human involvement in the phenomenon known as "global warming" - conclusions reached by scientists which ignore these unfortunate points are less science and more ideological positions reached by desires and junk science just as much as conclusions reached by ideologues who benefit from deregulation.
Anyone who blindly trumpets global warming and plays Chicken Little over the events on Earth is not interested in science. I am pretty sure that if every single piece of ice on the ice caps on the planet melted, the rise in sea water would be negligible... of course this is based on a small scale of a piece of ice in a glass of water. It would seem that the solid ice does more to raise sea levels.
Then again - I'm just asking questions which global alarmists seem unwilling to answer. I don't question the motives of people who want to see a better planet. As a Conservative - I have an interest in a healthy environment and I deplore companies who dump waste and ruin the wetlands/woodlands in which I hunt/fish/etc. That isn't the issue at all. We all have an interest in a healthy planet.
What we don't have an interest in is alarmist anti-capitalist forces attempting to undermine the economy with half-measures that do nothing to combat emissions.
... that the movie came out around the same time that classes started for everyone, and people have a lot more on their plate this time of year? Had it come out last month I'm sure the opening weekend would have been better. Also - I wish I had a "meager" 14 million dollars.
That is a stretch. In any serious court of law, the emotional stuff will be thrown out also. The prosecution will have to prove specifically that she committed each charge she was listed with. Yeah - because we all know that the United States of America is the biggest censor worldwide... which explains why NAMBLA is still operating.

Let me be clear:
How someone can get my username/password from a computer which didn't have WoW installed, and had been formatted, is behind a router, and has no spyware (I do not allow scriptable support in my browser without going to a trusted website) perplexes me, and the multiple 'hacked accounts' reports during the timeframe (from a Google search) tell me that something was going on besides random compromised users.

But then that wouldn't add the weight of "118000" years and an appeal to the ice age to the argument for "global warming". What a crock.
