Seriously, the past couple years it has reached the point where I'm questioning if half the things I'm reading online are even genuine, or just shilled marketing from some PR team to push an agenda or product. It's happened on imgur, on reddit, even 4chan. Nevermind the gawker media rags, gaming media, and even mainstream media. I wouldn't even be surprised if it has happened here. We've all probably seen it - these people we've never heard of who suddenly get mass exposure for no reason, or things that nobody would've given two shits about, but every network carries the story. (Hurr, is the dress black and blue or white and gold!?!)
It's like mass advertising has become mass propaganda, and there's nowhere you can go to escape it.
The converse of this, as I've learnt over the years, is that someone who can't write correct and sensible English* almost always sucks at coding as well.
I wasn't aware that there were mental disorders called "nawlinwiki" and "bsadowski1". I don't seem to be able to find any Wikipedia articles about these, either. Can you help?
As someone who actually lived through the 1990s and who actually used Windows 3.1/3.1.1/95/NT3/NT4/2000, I find the quoted paragraph to be pretty much on the mark.
Instead of being all cutesy & stuff, how about explaining to us exactly how this represents "history being rewritten"?
We're approaching a point where the only winning move is not to pay; I predict many folks will soon cancel cable and Netflix, and just go back to torrents.
Go back to torrents...?
Some of us were smart enough to see the game for what is is and refused to play in the first place.
Personally, I think it's the ones burning up 300+GB/month and countless hours of their lives watching fucking TV who are firmly attached to the corporate teat.
Turkey lies on the (mostly) land route between Europe and the Middle East. (Yes, this is the route the Ottomans followed when they conquered the Balkans.) It lies between the Back Sea (think Russia) and the Med and can easily control sea traffic between the two.
Turkey's value has nothing to do with its own politics and everything to do with geopolitics.
Hopefully, they will never gain entry to the EU unless and until they get rid of Erdogan and his Islamofascist rabble-rousers. Like Putin, Erdogan dreams of the lost days of Empire, and that together with the censorship, trampling free speech, and Armenia denial, does not wash at all well with the EU or most of its citizenry.
A lot of my friends already think I'm incredibly wealthy because I live overseas and travel a lot.
What they don't realise is that this lifestyle is possible because I don't spend my money on flashy stuff just to look impressive or because I've been brainwashed by marketing.
That's just sad. Amongst other things, Seigo cannot seem to fathom why some of us might not care to waste resources on things we don't don't want or need, instead going all cutesy about we must be obsessives.
What's tragic is that, in this second decade of the 21st Century, there are still ignorami who don't know what entity references are for.
It's actually more proper to use <literal> elements for these cases.
Oh, you're not using DocBook?
Too bad.
Nevermind.
Or y'all could use that li'l ol' Preview button...
Thank you for the convenient definitions of "fraud" and "unencumbered by anything resembling a conscience".

You're about a century late to the party. But better late than never.
Try to program as if you're writing English.

(*Placeholder for "coder's native language".)
Disbelieve all you want, but what Obfuscant describes IS teaching.

And I'm still waiting on the coffee to brew. I think I'm doing pretty well.
(And I did my share of psychoactive imagineering back in the day, but it's been at least 20 years since I've messed with anything on that level.)
Turkey has a member of NATO since 1952. They joined before (West) Germany did.
Turkey is in both Asia and Europe. It can control entry to the Black Sea (which contains the Crimea).
NATO called the *North Atlantic* Treaty Organisation because the North Atlantic is what lies between Europe and North America.
Really, if you did too many 'shrooms at school, you can find out all this stuff now with about 10 minutes on Wikipedia.
For the cost of a .22 round, you can take it out behind the shed and put it out of our misery.
I make it point to help someone who seems to need it every day.
It is not difficult, and it does not require billions in the bank.
A few coins or a few moments of your time can often accomplish a quite lot for someone who's in a real jam.
ProTip: Posting a response to your own meaningless ramblings proclaiming them "profound" does not make them so.
That sounds like a great idea. Then Microsoft can sue him right back into blissful financial oblivion.
Which OCP would that be?

Where the hell were you when I needed you in 2001?
See that little button labelled "Preview"...?
It's there for a reason.
Apparently some people enjoy driving from the living room to the WC when they need to take a leak.
Proof that being able to perform s/Windows/Linux/g on an assertion is not the same as being able to make a valid assertion.
