BTW, the Soviets conducted experiments where they tried to breed female volunteers with apes, so I doubt there'll be much trouble with finding volunteers for this one.
It might help if you had a correct understanding of the phrase, which refers to the magnitude ("godlike") of the powers exercised. It has nothing at all to do with "knowing the will of God".
Well, Buddhism doesn't address the ontological question, but from its earliest beginnings, it has always emphasised discovery of truth through observation and critical thinking.
OTOH, I'm not sure I consider Buddhism a "religion"... precisely because of this.
That fiery holocaust which destroys humanity prominently features a red dragon with seven heads and seven crowns on his heads. I must not have been paying enough attention to the news and missed the day when science provided us with that.

Wikipedia says you're wrong and that the experiments never actually took place. (There was an attempt at artificial insemination of female chimps with human sperm, which was a complete failure.)
I've never understood the "playing god" argument.

God doesn't exist, we can't play him.
Neither does Captain James T. Kirk of the starship Enterprise, but that's not stopped several people from portraying him.
P.S. Please learn about semicolons.
What's with the Geico jokes? That's the insurance company that uses a gecko as its mascot, right? ...
Hm. Can't decide if that means I've been away from the States for too long--or not long enough. ;)
Just because you want to believe there's really no such thing as ethics does not make it so, young Jedi.
That is just plain stupid.
Asgard's a place name. You're thinking of Æsir.
I prefer to discuss Buddhism with people who can at least spell it.
The fact that you seem to assume that any mathematical model must reflect reality is the real tragedy.
Yet you seem to have the misconception that 'devolution' isn't a real word.
I can produce an image of myself with wings pretty easily.
Doesn't mean I actually have them.
Then I will. Religion exists because lights in the sky go boom and it doesn't rain when you want it to and things happen you can't understand.
This is also why science exists
The difference being, of course, that science doesn't generally just make stuff up and demand your unquestioning acceptance of it as The Truth.
Given that human rights are a codification of canon law...
Would have modded you Funny for that, but
(a) I've already posted to this discussion;
(b) I suspect that you yourself might actually believe what you said.
... please don't blame good religions for the crimes of muslims/islam.
First you prove that "good religion" isn't an oxymoron, then we'll talk.

Yeah, about 4 years ago.
For that jaded Grammar Nazi who thinks he's seen it all...
What is it with all the 's laws...
*looks for something dull and rusty to gouge eyes out with*
Ringer.
But I'll give you 7/10 since your effort showed character.
To put it into terms you'll understand and appreciate more easily, it's enough to pay your annual wage at the Quik-E Mart for 20,000 years.
Give me control of a planet's oxygen supply, and I don't care who runs the banks.
But wait! I hear they make pretty nice keyboards, too!
(FYI, first thing I do when I get a new laptop is to figure out how set the touchpad so it's disabled by default.)
I'm sorry, we seem to have mistaken you for someone who has a life (and a knowledge of grammar).
So you were off-topic AND wrong. Congratulations!
Thank you!

Right? Right!
So what's stopping you?
