When you get done rewriting gcc and friends, along with the codebase and accompanying test suite that we've evolved over the last 15 years or so, and...
... When you get done rewriting xsltproc, fop, and friends, along with the 10,000+ pages of end-user documentation that depend on these,...
... Please call me.
Until then, I'll continue to do things the way that means my work gets done and that I get paid, and you can continue to reboot and then with one hand spam our user forums with complaints about our online manuals not being updated since yesterday, whilst masturbating to your own reflection in the screen with the other without interruption.
The original copyright laws were passed to protect the distributor from unfair competition.
The original copyright laws were passed to prevent the printing of "seditious" or "treasonable" material by forcing all printing presses to be registered with the government. The distributor being protected from "unfair competition" was none other than the British Crown.
Do you mean "theocratic" or "theological"? The former relates to a religion's social and/or political power, the latter to religious theory.
The periodic theocratic requirement for revival or reformation is pretty obvious; something must be done to reinvigorate a religion of critically decreased viability as a movement or institution, that is losing its hold on a society and/or losing followers.
The theological justification for reform lies in the fact that Truth remains true, but our understanding of it (or representation of it) is flawed and subject to improvement over time.
Christianity from the New Testament clearly is a religion of love and peace. No where does Jesus promote killing of non-believers, or anything like it, but quite the opposite.
Some of us actually have processes running on our computers that take quite a while to finish, and we tend to balance "don't feel like re-running a good chunk of the day's work" vs "don't feel like setting down the Cheetos to reach for something else" a bit more strongly in favour of the former than you do, I guess.
Apple is the only bridge between the technology industry and the consumer market. Thanks to Apple, millions of consumers learned that smartphones can be used to find hip restaurants.
I hope this was intended as sarcasm, because I was finding restaurants in foreign cities using my old "feature phone" at least 2 years before the iPhone even existed.
(And I was quite possibly the last person in any of my circles to get a mobile phone of any sort, so I wasn't exactly on the leading edge.)
Dunno. Hadn't heard anything about it being pulled, although I notice the last release was about 18 months ago. Are you sure that functionality's not in Connector/J now?
Central america and the northern portion of south america have been on a bit of an independent streak lately. They're much further in bed with the Chinese and Japanese than they are with the UK, who never had any formal colonies there.
The British certainly never dominated the region the way they did North America, the Indian subcontinent, Central/Southern Africa, and Australia/New Zealand, but they did and still do have some colonies there.
"Slippery Jim" diGriz and Bill, the Galactic Hero. I've worn out 2 or 3 copies of both series over the years.
Oddly enough, just a couple of days ago, I just happened to run across a reprint of A Trans-Atlantic Tunnel, Hurrah! which I bought and read on impulse, having seen it years and years ago but never having actually cracked the cover. A fun read, if you've not not already had the pleasure.
Thanks, Harry. I don't think I'll ever tire of your work.
But no true Scotsman would be caught dead writing JavaScript!
(Before you flame, I should mention that I've been using it myself since 1997, and it's still my first true love amongst programming and scripting languages.)

Have a nice day!
Just riding the skeuomorphic wave, baby.
It might be easier just to make everyone wear transparent clothing and live in glass houses.
I think I liked you better when you just sang the Golden Girls theme song.

Book of Matthew, Chapter 10, KJV:
34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
Thanks, I'll be here all week. Enjoy the veal. Don't forget to tip your waitress.

But suit yourself, friend.
Most of us don't think that subways are all that sexual.
Wake me up when they get their own symbol that has no name or pronunciation. :)
I was hinting at the usefulness of SSH in situations like that.
That was what I assumed.
(I wish the AC Good luck with that attitude of his when his keyboard locks up, heh.)
and how many real laptops have serial ports these days?
Mine does, and it's less than 4 months old. (It also has USB and HDMI.)

It looks like you've responded to the wrong post, friend.
A bit, yeah.
I'll ask around.

You might try asking on their forums about it.
... wanting rape victims to marry their rapists, that's a distinctly Muslim trait.
Deuteronomy 22:28-29 and Exodus 22:16-17 would like to have a word with you.
Sorry, friend, but Boca Raton is NOT a big city.
Even if you include all of Palm Beach County.

Including the Cayman Islands.
(I agree with most of your post, just sayin'...)
What, are we going to threaten that if they don't cooperate, America will block imports of IKEA's new Trogdör bookshelf?
That's "dörr", friend. :)
More seriously: why would the US block Chinese imports in retaliation for something done by Sweden?

Your ersatz GNAA fails it. Totally.
