Why do Google and Yahoo provide this information anyhow? Because if they don't, they fear getting blocked from China allowing its public to access their sites. If they both provide this information, then neither side loses traffic. Which both are pretty much neck and neck Google vs. Yahoo except for the glitch in that one spot, they are in fact closer than ever. If one does not give in to China's request and ther other does, bye bye traffic from China.
Tell that to the people that get their identities jacked and it Ef's up their credit. Not saying that a stolen drivers license wouldn't get you in the same boat. But my university used to use SSN for student ID. They have since 86'd that, but who knows how many places my SSN is floating around on paper because of that. That REALLY doesn't make me that comfortable.
If you smoke, because smoke contains carcinogens, you still can get Emphysema, along with a slue of other diseases not directly associated with, but can led to cancer from smoking. Nuclear waste is also Carcinogenic. So to answer your question, it may only cure the cancer butt (sorry for the pun) of the equation. Long cell deteriation in the lungs or elsewhere will cause health problems.
I see your point, but from TFA:"This was caused by something as seemingly harmless as a missing closing parenthesis". I am a C++ guy, and just finished writing a compiler last semester in my studies, so I know compilers can very well complete even with errors. Maybe the article is just used fouled verbage?
I know that rules like
E -> ( E ) | epsilon
Are valid , but I personally know of no instance where
E -> ( E | epsilon
in a C language and would not be error trapped, but I could be wrong.
That the compilers have a flaw as well? You would think that the semantic rules would catch this and throw a compiler error for a missing parenthesis but maybe I am missing something.
True, I agree 100%, but speaking for itself does not grab the attention of the non-computer savvy market, which is ALOT. Unfortunately, advertising does. As for people that are more computer savvy like most people on/. most of the "IN" crowd probably make up almost the entire percentage of the 20% of AMD's market share.
Speaking of Dell (Dintel) and them aquiring AlienWare (AMDware), and rumored they will still be using AMD cpus this begs the question. Will Intel pressure them to convert AlienWare purchases to Intel chips in due time? On the other hand, about market share, consider that Intel puts out so many, and so catchy ads on TV that no wonder they have such a huge market share. Unless I am blind I have not seen an AMD commercial. Just goes to show so many commercials for Intel, even if I did see an AMD commercial at some point, obviously it did stick into memory!
*nix for REAL applications (non-OSX *nix) Mac for Video/Music Editing (Pro-tools Pro-tools, Pro-tools need I say more) Windows for Gaming (Headshots and clan raids)
But then again, who wants to maintain/run 3 OS's, I will stick with my Linux flavor on top of hardware I can buy locally without being attached to a particular OS.
I say this because my friend works for Ratheon on some kind of military jet embeded system. Perhaps a C flavor for some things, but definately not C++, maybe just C. You could be right on Ada too.
Considering there are applications like Psiphon to circumlent their censorship. It is the only thing they can do just shy of blocking access to every industry that uses SSL.
People that hate another for what ever reason, yes that's not a crime (at least in most countries), but the real question is, if once then commited some act then it becomes a hate crime only because they hate them? What incited the crime, THE HATE, the crime begins with HATE. That is the point I was trying to convey. If it was only a crime not based on hate, then there are some other root for motivation of the act and not deemed hate crime. It was not my idea proposed that email names lead to hate crimes, that was the parent up post claiming Yahoo was Their (Yahoo's) explination as trying to qwell "hate crimes", and I was curious to see what proof would surface from that concept.
I see your point, "hitlerhatesjews" should not be allowed either so I agree on that. But Muslim extremists they hate Jews too so you can't limit your restriction of haters to Neo-Nazis. But what does Allah have to do with hate crimes? We do know theses extremist individuals are using the name of Allah to spread their "Jihad" in the name of Allah himself. I am sure Yahoo's original thoughts to do this were good intentions, but you leave no room to allow legitimate names such as the previous article here on Slashdot. So you come to the question, when does censoring email names directly result in less hate crimes so much that you have to limit names that can be choosen? I really would like to know some numbers on how many crimes have actually resulted in screen or email names. It's naturally human nature to have an opinion, a view, a religion, but these "wars", "jihads" will never end, they are a viciuous cycle. People will never learn, there will always be hate for what ever reason. Even though as a human race we become more intellegent, we are still ignorant to the fact that we are all human, one in the same, dispite race, color, creed. Like Reagan said back in the 80's, it won't be until some Alternate Life-form poses danger on the human race, will there be any kind of truce, and we can find another finger to point and target our human hate.

Slashdotted! Guess I'll wait a few hours to see em'

What even is more annoying is the way it appears to work. I got annoyed just looking at those annoying Vista warning screen shots.

At first glance, not reading the article, "Deep Note" sticks out first thing I thought of was the infamous pr0n movie of the 70's Deep Throat
Yes Open Source, gotta love it. Isn't it an open source virus? Now when will it be on Sourceforge for download?
I agree with you, but a slight modification:
*nix for REAL applications (non-OSX *nix)
Mac for Video/Music Editing (Pro-tools Pro-tools, Pro-tools need I say more)
Windows for Gaming (Headshots and clan raids)

They must have been going out tonight, it is Friday! But WTF Pink, I can't even read the front page. It hurts my eyes.

Isn't all this stuff written in assembly anyways? Ewww digging through xor's and and's and sll's fun stuff!
After hours of tinkering. I decided to go with a paid solution. I have been using Sunshop by Turnkey Web Tools for all of my e-commerce projects.

Indian Givers.....
Or people that can't wait for Perl 6 to come out.
Or people that don't want to use Python for web interfaces.
IMHO, Perl is too cryptic

I guess not everyone has expendable budgets. But isn't Dial Up close to that price?
