I part run a school network and not only do the machines regularly slow down kids also use them!!!! Yes we have a few respectfull kids but when you take into account the amount of paper ive pulled out of drives this week you start to wonder what the state of the OS is like. So we came up with a simple answer keep an image of each type of machine on our server and use symantic ghost to image the Pc whenever it looks the slightest bit dodgy. Its simple takes about 30 mins to create the image (only needed once) and the same to completly re-make the machine (with apps and all). With ebay selling servers at around £200 this is cheap and will last. Also great virus protection when u get 1 dont bother to fix it just wipe the disk.
LOL. My Gf plays WOW harder, faster & longer than i do. Obviously 1 more person who cant understand GIRLS PLAY GAMES and while not a selling point on a man questing with ur gf can b an incredably good way to spend time when distance is a problem. Back in your box.
Im sorry but from my point of view the british system has got far to harsh when it comes to terrorism so much so that I now feel unsafe at expressing my discontent at the blairite regime that threatens to wrap us all up in bubble wrap and smother us comfoftably. I say its time to make a stand we should all use high level encryption then send our disks to the police so they can crack them. I say we should march through parliment sq (oooooooh shit we cant nemore). Free speach in the UK is under attack from scared politicians that dont understand that they are sponsering terrorism by joining in with america w.o.t. The Americans brought back the word jihad about 60 years ago when it had been dead for a few thousand. No more should we be persicuted in our own country for wanting to see blair burn. Just 1 comment I ran an xp box for something like 2 years with a permanant connection 2 tha net and generally it didnt get messed up. If these people cant run a firewall, antivirus, patch windows, scan for adware everynow and again then what do they expect. Yes i got a few bits of malware but usually sorted it within about 30 mins. Rant over your probably right. But just consider this if every1 where useing linux boxes then all the malware coders will just start writing for that platform. Just make sure your data and network iz safe then watch the other users crumble.
Look if gooooogle can censor news in china why should we start to worry about these smaller companies building software too censor and not even putting them into use. Sorry but go after the big companies then all the little ones will follow suit.
Its my job when someone comes to me with something like that. To look at it and if i dont want to do it there way to offer an alternative. Your tech guys are gonna need a kick (try confiscating their bandwidth till they do some work).
