Hate to spoil the fun, but if you've got a seriously meaty processor, it costs you a seriously meaty amount in electricity to run folding@Home, when compared to leaving the system idle, or even better off.
I'm not sure exactly, but I think someone measured it to be about 60 Watts more (about 4 low energy bulbs).
I've got a DAB radio, and they're not really worth the effort - with a weak DAB signal they give up entirely, whereas with a weak FM or AM signal at least it's still audable.
DAB does have many more chanels, although most of them arn't worth listening to. (too many adverts - the 30 or so BBC chanels have no adverts for us in the UK, and thats all most people listen to)
The quality of DAB isn't audably better than a well tuned FM radio, although it does get rid of the hiss of a weaker signal.
One advantage is the ease of selecting a chanel by name, but thats what RDS was sposed to do with FM, but was never implemented well enough to make it easy to use.
I hate to think what car DAB radios will be like - the requirement for a strong signal will mean every few miles it'll need coaxing back to life again on a new transmitter - and no, automatic switchover won't be as good as manufacturers claim as there's often about a mile where neither signal can be recieved in rural areas, or tunnels, or high buildings etc.
you can distort a square into a circle in 2D (by squishing the corners in)
you can distort a cube into a sphere in 3D (by rounding the points)
so you should be able to distort a shape in 4D to a 4D sphere!
and it looks like it ought to apply to any number of dimensions as well - was proof required?
Most people believe if they scratch it they need to buy a new one anyway - if you crashed your car you wouldn't expect to be able to just "restore a backup" of your car.
In the UK cheap unlimited 1MB broadband (1MB is the fastest speed for most houses) is £10 per month ($18 USD), and on my ISP they'll give you free "extra months" for pretty much anything.
it's a very old slashdot post from a long time ago about marine animals that are trained to use weapond for millitary use. - couldn't find a link for you.
The "From:" and "Reply-to:" mail headers are fine - the one outlook looks at to make the "on behalf of" tag is the "Sender:" SMTP header, which gmail always sets to your @gmail.com address. I've never seen any other program use the "Sender:" header, so I guess it's new or nobody's ever used it before.
When you send your mail to someone who uses outlook and they reply they see "copy@gmail.com sending mail on bahalf of user@xyz.com" in the from line. That totally defats the purpose of doing it, as not your busness conatcts still see that you're using gmail, and cross you off the "serious clients" list.
I highly recommed AGAINST doing this - IE7 runs fine, great etc., but when you close IE you'll find that windows explorer can no longer open folders, and that Internet explorer can open a web page, but hyperlinks no longer work. If a hyperlink is clicked 152 internet explorer windows open up, all saying "Action Canceled", and then the machine runs out of memory. I spent ages with system restore and registry backups trying to undo all IE7's registry changes, but in the end I had to format and re-install windows.
So overall, DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU DON'T MIND BREAKING WINDOWS EXPLORER AND IE6!!!
If LC5 is out of the question now, get something that is already outside the US of A.
For Example: Login Password Recovery
(and it's easier to use - idiot proof in 3 easy steps!)
The above site has automatic hash extraction with a boot disk and remote instant cracking and doesn't involve illegally exporting software - no fiddling with p2p, bash shells, drivers etc. - I recon my granny could do it!
if there are pay for downloadable games, then isn't it possible to plug a PC in via a hub and do packet sniffing on the ethernet connection, copy the game to your PC hard drive, ready to modify to remove any limitations, put it on P2P networks etc., and then load it onto the xbox by emulating the xbox live server's responses.
I do hope that it's some HTTPS connection they use...
BTW, what is the connection method used for xbox live, as some ISP's only allow HTTP(S) web access via a proxy on their basic ADSL services in the UK, and no other connection types are allowed. (and the user doesn't get a public IP)
Also, how long does it take to download a game on slow ADSL - I mean a 4GB DVD could take 2 days!!
For example look at tools like this one (Password recovery in minutes):
http://www.loginrecovery.com/
Note how my windows password that follows all the "good practice" rules (14 chars, containing letters, capitals, numbers AND symbols) was got in about 3 mins!!! (and to think the police take 90 days! - they should use this site)
Don't most emulators (or ports of emulators) take a very long time to do? (for example the PSX emulator ePSXe still isn't complete, even after the PSone is far outdated)

Seems obvious to me:

I'm british, and I don't understand the joke...
A well written piece looking at a wider picture - mod up.

Anyone taught you about tides? What powers those? Should we shut down all or tidal power sources?

good point - can anyone answer this question who has knowledge in the topic?

That doesn't work:

thats what I ended up doing.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you want the speed it will hit the floor it's worked out by:
V^2=u^2+2as
so
v^2=0+2*9.8*1
v=4.4 m/s
PS. where is the square root button on windows calculator when on scientftic view??!!
