    1 second at 65 mph is about 95 feet, while the stopping distance on a dry road, with ABS, with a reaction time of 1.1 seconds is 250 feet. If you can seriously say, after 1.5 seconds of looking at your surroundings, that nothing's going to happen in that time, you're a fool. The mere looking at each mirror is going to take you more time than that. Look in 8 directions in 1.5 seconds, you won't see anything but a blur.

    Yep. If they decide to look at a screen for a 10-second period while they write a text at 65 mph, and take both hands off the wheel to do so, they get what they deserve.

    Not really. If the majority of your competitors get together and work against you by holding meetings discrediting you, it's probably the same as all the major players in a market getting together and pricing you out of business. If it isn't, it should be illegal.

    You neglect that in our country, you aren't necessarily tied down by your class if you have the will to change the world around you. You can be in that small group, if you decide to, and work to it.

    ...then it's time for a new, unrelated industry to rise, or the economy is going to tank. Do you think the auto industry lasted forever with engineers in their management ranks? I'd say no, and around the time they started getting into that mindset, the computer industry gradually stepped in as the new high-tech industry. It has happened before, it will happen again, if there's another tech industry in our future.

    If you put the panels on the roads, it's closer to its final usage point than if you put them in the middle of nowhere. Also, you can pick roads that aren't quite used as much. I imagine your highways are hugely crowded, but how about other roads, like every dead end in the area?

    A slight curve on glass is likely to drain water better than the equivalent asphalt because of its smoothness, as water isn't going to get trapped in a small hole between rocks. As for traction, I'm not so sure, but having horizontal striped ridges (1/4 width of raised sections, total width 1/2 inchish, probably) in it would help out alot not only for motorcyclists, but also anyone else driving.

    One thing that might keep damage from being as big of a problem: glass can be reused very easily, in much the same way asphalt can.

    You can cut access to a system by basically having a direct way of cutting given routers. You don't have to deal with shutting down the internet to stop an attack from a given city or country.
