    iPhone is a product, android is an industry.

    Know they are both products, just on the iPhone...iOS...the OS is a Unique Selling Point, and it used to be a pretty good one. As opposed to Android sold at Zero cost to Manufactures of Phones, for collecting the revenue from Advertising and the revenue from the Play store.

    You can only argue which has the better model(Short term profits vs Long term Market share), I personally think Androids is better long term.

    The iPhone 6 comes with 1 Gb of memory. And has options for 16, 64 and 128 Gb of storage.

    That's about right. I just checked my iPhone (4s), and in over two years of use, never cleaning anything, I've barely passed 5GB. By far the biggest use of space is recorded videos, followed by photos, then several big apps.

    And it is not a good comparison. Photos and Videos take up more space on a phone because the cameras now are higher resolution, even though they are still tiny compared to the opposition, and Apps are growing exponentially I have several Apps that are GBs. I know Apple does not have as many Apps as Android, but I would find it astonishing if it were not the same.

    The iphone was few bragging points and one of them is its slimness is one of them. look at the ugly badly designed protruding camera on the me too iphone to protect the use of this stupid advantage(sic). It uis the same reason they don't have removable batteries.

    I prefer not to keep my entire picture library on it.

    With its tiny resolution cameras you don't need a lot of storage. It is only 8MP the selfie cam is an astonishingly small 1.2. I agree though mobile devices should advise space free not total amount. In this case iOS 8 takes up 5GB of that space so should advertise itself as a 11GB phone

    Ignoring the usual America centric hire purchase model that makes the me too iphone acceptable in America with a market share there of 40% yet 10% everywhere else when you have to pay $800 vs $200.

    The me too iPhone is underspecced in every way; Not just storage but ram, screen resolution, both camera resolutions (The front is a disgrace), and still on only two cores. It does not even compete with phones costing half the price a year ago. Yet it still lacks features such as IR Blaster, Waterproofing...or even a radio.

    The fact that it still has no removable battery...or more importantly to this apologists topic the removable sdcard on a me too phone with tiny resolution is a disgrace.

    I suspect my next CPU will be arm(MIPS). I am astonished that I see I CPU the cost of several 1080p tablets. I am a little tired of all the posters of my computer does everything...     Pun not intended...but that boat has sailed at least for Nokia. Nokia might be free of the shackles of Microsoft, but who is lest to care. Elops misguided 1:1 conversion from symbian to Windows Phone strategy when its company was twice the size of Apple and four times the size of Microsoft and growing has failed. it is not even in the top 10 of phone manufactures. Its brand irreparably tarnished.

    Elop is his desire to sell Nokia to Microsoft for Millions in his own pocket has cost Nokia billions, has cost tens of thousands of employees jobs(some still to go), manufacturing worldwide(Luminas are simply another third party Chinese phone), even its headquarters has been sold off. Its carrier connections destroyed though Its infrastructure is simply none existent. What is left is not a phone company...just another patent troll(I know they own more) waiting for a big buyout.

    I wish Jolla all the best, but for any success anyone e.g. Intel, Lenovo, Facebook all would be better choices. Nokia is simply not a contender.

    Except it wasn't. At launch it had a distinctive look(Like the N9), but the hardware failed to capitalise on Nokia technology...because it wasn't built by Nokia. It was part of Elops move to a more Apple model...or Designed in Finland(by Microsoft!?). High end camera technology simply ignored, keyboards simply not an option, and hardware dictated to by Microsoft.The fact that early models not upgradeable, due (in part) to their weak specification is simply more petrol on the burning platform that is Windows Phone.

    In fact the only place the phones make sense was right at the low end of the market...which is where they did sell some in the western world, and then failed to capitalise(simply where not interested in!?) on it before the rise of the Motorola G...Project Svelte...Motorola E...Android One...Blah Blah Blah

    I don't like the posting of netmarketshare as gospel especially when they adjust their data, but quoting wikipedia as a measure is simply spinning figures in a "I don't even give a fuck about reality way" A quick look at statcounter shows firefox usage slightly down http://gs.statcounter.com/#bro... and at 18%. Netshare shows firefox slightly down at http://marketshare.hitslink.co... as 15%. Not a million miles from each other, but the trends basically show firefox usage is pretty flat. Even these figures are less of a reflection of how badly firefox is doing, but how well chrome is.

    I noticed this comment had got a five early on...basing on assumptions that the big powerful USA has all the money its smartphone ownership percentage should be highest, I find this astonishing.

    The link at the bottom is linked to(Slashdot will not accept a direct link) to Googles amazing tool where TNS have released their survey data on 54 countries and ownership of smartphones, and guess what USA is only the 19th country of percentage of smartphone ownership per person, drawing with Canada. India is already at 7%, and that is without phones dropping to $30; Google is targeting India with the Android One(A reference phone) at cheaper than Motorola E prices. India already has 7% smartphones that is 85.9 Million smartphone owners(Looks Like A billion mobile users realistic)...to put that in perspective the USA has only 148.5 Million.
