I really hate Traffic James... they're everywhere. I mean, how can one man be in so many places at once? Santa's being given a run for his money...
And yes, if the title gets edited, it really was "MS Clearflow To Help Drivers Avoid Traffic James"
1) "Voice over IP apps like Skype that attempt to use the cellular data connection will be blocked."
Yeah they're going to be blocked over the cellular network, not over WiFi, this is NOT NEWS.
2) The article that the "are forbidden" link goes to talks about the possible lack of Photoshop (among other apps) on the iPhone. Photoshop, come on. There is no way I'm going to take an article seriously that talks about the lack of Photoshop ON A PHONE. If you wanna use Photoshop get your own lappy 486 or Desktop.
3) Sun Java VM - Where the heck is the back peddling? This whole thing was announced less than a week ago, the article even states "if our crack engineers are able to build it" let alone where they mention the licensing in less than one full sentence...
Get real. This is a Doom n' Gloom / FUD post.
Other than your knee-jerk reactionary statement to the article, do you even have a clue as to what "Application Enhancer" is? While it's a great gateway to enable other haxies and features, it doesn't surprise me that this is the case. More than likely this is the result of people who have this installed while running Tiger, then do an upgrade (i.e. dirty) install of Leopard. It's not just a point release, there are some significant changes to the code... For instance, NetInfo.. try and find it... I dare ya.
Exactly... just making an example out of 'da Mac. Chalk this one up to Intel for the exploit, and to MS & Apple for trusting them. Though the article almost wreaks of FUD without knowing all the specifics of just how it was done.
If "the media" doesn't know how to write about technology, that's probably a good thing. I'd rather them not have the knowledge than have something like the equivalent hype and constant screaming of say, Fox News or MSNBC on the TV... I'm not mentioning those two channels to flame them, just that I'd rather have what is written to be straight forward.
Viral Marketing 101... and it's lame... the comingzune.com site is just a spin off of the 360 marketing me thinks. I hope it fails, miserably. Maybe MS will get a clue and stick to being on the Desktops of (most) cubicles.
Hey genius, if you had a clue you'd see that the code is written for PowerPC. Good try though, why don't you go back to watching Teletubbies or something...

On the main page of the iTMS, scroll down, there's a black link in bold that says "Turn Just For You Off", followed by an arrow pointing to the right.

Na, this report is pure FUD-ware. If it's talking about what I think it's talking about, it has to do with the iTunes Music Store's "Just For You" section, which is a BETA and can be TURNED OFF.
Don't like it? Turn it off, still don't like it? Stop using cocaine as your coffee creamer.
