"Nobody will buy the HD DVD drive addon for the Xbox 360 because it is too expensive"
Too expensive? I wouldn't call $200 too expensive. I've purchased it already. I needed a new DVD player anyway and I don't like to use the primary XBOX drive for movies. So far, $200 is worth it. I belong to Blockbuster Total Access and they rent HD DVDs through the mail so I am able to take advantage of it. Not to mention the upconvert really does make standard DVDs look better.
When I power up a shiny new Dell, I always feel like I'm at a circus...
Tell me about it... I just got my wife a new Dell laptop for Christmas and I spent hours cleaning that crap off. Now its all unstable and she's pissed off. The profile got hosed or something and everytime the thing hibernates it wakes up all groggy and complaining.
.. this yesterday. I am trying to figure out this nightmare of a web service I've been handed with no documentation. I was just talking to a friend of my via IM and telling him no wonder web services haven't really taken off. I mean sure they are around but they aren't widespread. It reminds me of EJB. The concept is great but good luck implementing them. Too complex IMO.
This is definitely true. While I am not an iTunes user per se. I know many people who are and have given up on iTunes 7.0. In fact some people run 4.0 just for the features. I run a small record label and I've noticed that sales are down from iTunes quite a bit as well.
Wow! I work right across the street from the campus. Who knew those little freaks were ACTUALLY doing work! I just thought they just took all-day coffee breaks at the Starbucks nextdoor.
But lets say she truly did not download pirated music but accidentally shared her music folders to Kazaa without knowing. This would be a great point to the case. I am not saying this is what happened but I think she might have a good point. I mean there was a P2P frenzy there for awhile and there may have been a ton of people who downloaded Kazaa without truly knowing what it was.
Same goes for flash drives. Durable? Yes. Cheap? No.
Durable? No. Cheap? Yes.
Flash drives IMO aren't that durable but they are pretty inexpensive I think. Depends on the type I guess.
I used to work right across the street from EA Tiberon here in Florida and I know a couple of "former" EA developers. How can they complain when they pay their developers SHIT!! I had a recruiter call me up and offer me an interview there and I laughed at the salary!! It was like 50k less than what I make as a consultant! Even for FT standards it was a joke. C'mon EA! What costs do you have to deal with?
"If we devise a drug that kills a neural stem cell," said Dr. Dirks, "maybe that will mean you won't be able to form new memories. . . . It will inhibit stem cells and they are thought to have a role in memory formation."
(The predictions vary depending on when Earth actually passes through the trail: earlier, fewer meteors -- later, more meteors.)
Umm, they can't figure out when the Earth passes through the meteor shower? I didn't realize the Earth's rotation and the speed of the meteors were variable!

Now if I could just plug into the port in the back of my head I'd be all set!
Why would I want to spend time with my wife? When I hang out with her all she does is bitch that I am spending too much time on my PC!

Does it REALLY make a difference over 1080p? I mean you really CAN over-sharpen things!

If everyone were to switch to buying CDs and ripping them, then people would stop buying from iTunes, and that would be good for Microsoft.
If everyone just switched to the eMusic model then we wouldn't have to worry about this issue.
Yes you are correct.. my attempt at sarcasm should have stated that "It isn't like our planet is COVERED in 80% water or anything!" Good catch.
Yes, because it isn't like our planet is 80% water or anything.

Heavy Metal levitated by a low frequency bass oscillator. Rock On!!
I can already put all the video in the world on my iPod! At 5,000,000:1 compression ratio! Who said it was viewable though?!
Are you sure they we're quoting an episode from Sliders?

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
