This is something that could equate to good PR for Linux. Bear with me here...
1)Now it's "easier than ever(TM)" to try out Linux, after all Microsoft has now published instructions for backing out in case you find it's not for you! Just give it a month and if you don't like it, no harm, no foul!
2)Let's say you decide to take the "Microsoft doesn't have a clue" angle (or step 1 leaves them wondering why the MS method don't work), write your own documentation on how to *correctly* remove Linux partitions and set up your HD for Windows. All of a sudden (well, after 2-3 tries the MS way) their support doesn't look so good compared to ours. Maybe I should give this Linux thing a try again real soon, because at least *they* know how to get everything back the way it was if I don't like it.

I think what he is trying to say is that if Q3a were released GPL today, it would take roughly 5 seconds before the source and recompiled binaries were available from just about anyone under 25 with a dsl or better conenction. They (Id) would be lucky to sell 5% of what they can by keeping it closed source. Your next door neighbor would be able to give you Q3a in exchange for 2 blank CD's. It'd be great, until ID closes shop and there are no more Quakes.

As a child I was diagnosed as being 'hyperactive' (That's what I was told anyway). Ritalin did no good, neither did about 3 or 4 other drugs they had me try. I was a total hellion until I eventually wasn't anymore. I still have (minor) problems socially and I'll probably never know what exactly was going on in my head at 7-8. One small point about diabetics, there are two types. Type 1's like me will always need to take insulin shots unless someone cures it. Type 2's (most diabetics)can control their diabetes through diet and exercise, so actually it does make sense to tell them to get out and walk some:-)
